Default Jim Olenbush Upgrade

Well the site has always peformed well (For those of you who don't remember here is the older version) http://www.realestatewebmasters.com/...nbush-main.jpg
However, as we have continued to develop it, I found that the existing architecture was a bit limiting in terms of adding additional elements and sections. Also I felt that the featured listings could be brought up higher in the fold, and finally I wanted to get er into a 1024 layout as overall feedback on upgrades is generally universally positive.

So let's hear it! The New www.jimolenbush.com -gone 3 column, lots of added detail work, 1024 etc - I still have a ways to go, (And no great site is ever finished) but I think at this point I am ready for feedback.

I say "I" like it is just me involved in this project, however the creative genius part was all done by Phil our creative director, I just got to play the role of customer and articulate my ideas - Jim helped to of course, always had great feedback, while at the same time allowing us to "do our thing" which generally works out the best (Costs less, produces a better product etc)

Feedback is appreciated.

Very nice design. Well thought out.

It took me a while to find the link to the blog home page in the left navigation. At first I did not think there was a link to this page anywhere. I saw the feed with links to posts, but could not find a direct way to jimolenbush.com/blog/.

My eye went to the tabs at the top first, which is where most sites place a link to the blog. Next I went to the feed at the bottom. While you can navigate to posts there, I could not get to the main blog page.

Cool, this has always been one of my favorites. Fun to see these changes.

I like that you added "Login/Register" next to the top navs. and the "Browse Communities" is an awesome addition. Love the footer too.

I see John's blog "visibility" issue. Maybe a blog feed under 2 or 3 featured listings (that would rotate with refresh) a la LEC, Morgan? Or maybe an "Austin Real Estate News" icon right above featured listings?

Small html issue - when you click on “Austin Zip Codes”, the “Max Price” and “Bathrooms” drop downs get cut off by the featured listings (I’m on Mozilla).

Cool stuff, Morgan and Jim - nice to see a great thing get even better.

How about some sort of way to get to the map search from the homepage?

I like it. That is one of my favorite photos of Austin. I have used it in advertising myself. Its PERFECT for this site. It really does a lot to lighten up the heavy brown. In fact that brown is just a perfect compliment to the site.

Very nice.

I also like the little wider format.

As a fellow Austinite who has an office in the same part of town. I have kept a close watch on this site and followed it through many changes. This site has always been in inspiration to me and my agents who want to do better on the web.

I have to say that I like the new look with the wide profile and content from side to side. My initial reaction was to just stop a minute and look around to soak it in. I think your visitors will do the same. I suspect your visitors will stay around longer on each page with all of the graphics and content.

Great job to everyone who worked on this, way to stay out in the lead with no close seconds.
