My website is based on Joomla. For some reasons I can not get the sitemap to work. My site has never had a sitemap installed. Is it worth the time to get the sitemap working or just leave it without?

Are you referring to a XML sitemap or HTML sitemap?

Setting up a sitemap.xml should not be an issue.

google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?answer=40318

There are several sites out there that will create an xml sitemap for your website.

google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&rlz=1T5GGLL_enUS267US267&q=sitemaps+xml

An XML sitemap. I may have to look into another product. The one I am using, I just can't get it to work. I have been debating whether a sitemap is truly necessary or not. Any thoughts?

It may not be so easy to get a site map working. But if you do have the patience to do it, it can be very helpful for your site.
