Default Google Cloud or docs.

Is anyone using google docs to store there vital documents that can be accessed from any computer that has an internet connection. I think its a great idea, since they have a lot of the same features as microsoft such as word, power point, and spreadsheet. The only thing i don't like is that you have a limited amount of space that will eventually cost you once you go over your bandwidth.

I haven't used it but have heard great reviews - I think Andy Beal wrote that he made the switch a while ago and he likes it.

let me know how it goes

We use Google docs all the time. They are especially useful if you have shared projects with another person or group. We primarily use their spreadsheet application and a shared calendar.

Google is taking a run a Microsoft's software domination by providing free hosted software and storage. Hosted data is a much better solution as long as it is secure. The Google software does not have all of the functionality of Microsoft products yet, but I would not bet against them down the road.

As far as space, they give a ton of storage for free. They also have a premium account that will basically give you unlimited storage space for only $50/year.

Microsoft recently released a hosted solution - Office Live Workspace. It is also free and does basically the same thing except with Microsoft products.

I have not used it much yet, but I REALLY like the concept. It will be interesting to see how it works out as more and more of this stuff goes for essentially FREE to users.

@functionality- I am sure that will come with time..I think with many users M-soft has an overly complicated product to an extent (read: 6 ways to do everything, 4 are dead ends). I wonder, as a percentage, how much functionality a typical user would use of M-soft office anyway.

Best;

Eric
