Doe anyone know where I can find research on the percentage of home buyers that go to the internet first? More importantly, the average price range, age of an online property search consumer.

Trying to figure out of if I target 400K homes and above in my market(I know if I was in SOCAL it would be more than this) will I be hurting myself in the sense that the market for online property search and conversions are in a lower price bracket.

This is a pretty interesting question IMO. Are internet buyers more likely in specific price ranges. I am not sure if anyone will have specific data to tell you the answer. I think you can specialize more as your business becomes stronger.

I think you have to start out with the shot gun and then drill down thru time to more focused niches but I will be interested to here other facts and opinions on the subject.

The best thing to do is to just check your own analytics. In Atlanta...

Sandy Springs, Dunwoody and Buckhead, under $500,000
Atlanta 100-200
Alpharetta 300-400
Chastain 500-1 mil
Roswell 300-400
Condos 100-200

Overwhelmingly, the search string contains far more variables than simply price.
