I was doing some checking around on our company supplied site and came up with a traffic rating report in the links from quantcast.com? 726,593 for PremierLasVegasRealEstate.com!! Whoo HOO
![]() Has anybody seen this... Pros, cons? The Demographic reports are very interesting in gauging the quality of visitors if it's actually accurate. According to their site, they are the worlds only open internet rating service? Check out these reports: Realtor.com (304 Rank) -> http://www.quantcast.com/realtor.com (regulars = 54%, passers by = 44%, 29% of users have incomes over $100K) Trulia.com (526 Rank) (check out the drop in traffic in the past month -- is the Trulia awareness program working??) ---> http://www.quantcast.com/trulia.com (Regulars = 29%, Passers by = 70%, 34% of users have incomes over $100K) Zillow.com (715 Rank) --> http://www.quantcast.com/zillow.com (Regulars = 45%, passers by = 54%, 35% of users have incomes over $100K) Homes.com (736 Rank) (interesting increase in traffic) - http://www.quantcast.com/homes.com (Regulars = 35%, Passers by = 64% and, 29% of users have incomes over $100K) RealtyTrac.com (1,280 rank -- Interesting jump and tells you what consumers are looking for) http://www.quantcast.com/realtytrac.com (regulars = 32%, Passers by = 67%, 28% have incomes over $100K) ActiveRain.com (2,152 rank) --> http://www.quantcast.com/activerain.com (regulars = 12%, passers by 87%, 30% of users have incomes over $100K) Localism.com (9,316 Rank) (jump in traffic for the past month) --> http://www.quantcast.com/localism.com (regulars = 6%, passers by = 94% with 38% of users that have incomes over $100K) Is there any value in this or should it just be looked at as entertainment value? I'm going to assume even if the actual numbers are not entirely accurate, the above rankings are used with the same criteria so It could give a good picture of where we need to be for advertising listings. The reports above are national -- I found it extremely interesting pulling up some of our local sites such as the newspaper to see the reports -- and where not to waste money advertising. As my grandfather used to say... go fishing where the fish are ![]() Thoughts on using this information?

Paul,
How are ya? Long time no talk. You still manage to peak my interest with your posts... I love statistical sites, or should say love looking at them. Now, I realize of course statistics can be manipulated in many ways to obtain desired results and I always wonder as example: 9% of users have incomes over $100K, in order to achieve that specific a detail, they would have had to inquire of every single visitors income. And of course, each inquired visitor would answer 100% honestly ![]() I particularly enjoyed viewing a query I did for a local entity and was pleasantly surprised that 1% of they're audience composition is Addicts (of an unknown type) and this demographic has 15% of the Share of visits. I'm still laughing...

Thanks Jessie,
Big changes IML so I was absent for a little while.. But I'm back.. Anyways -- that was the whole point of the question to begin with on analyzing what they are reporting. When I was the D. of Sales for a new condo community long ago, we evaluated prices, demographics and media reach for where we wanted to advertise (where are we going to get the best bang for our buck?).. Which is no different then focusing on where we need our listings to be seen. There are so many online services out there feeding the crap that you need to have your listings here and here... but never no real statistical numbers except the "over 80% of all real estate buyers start their search on the internet" line...

Paul,
Have you signed up for them and included your site with their code? That would be an interesting test I think.

Nope -- that's why I posted it here to find out if anybody else has... or have even heard about this service.
I don't quite have any real numbers yet on my sites.. 4 years of pretty much doing nothing with them but making progress since changing over my old Las Vegas site to an REW site.. Plus.. I've been focusing on real life networking lately to get back into my loop...

We put the code on our site for a couple months and the traffic reported was a lot less than what Google and our other traffic reporting systems reported.
We're going to put it back on (just forgot to put it up with a new design) as there's nothing bad about it - it gives you one more tracking tool and may end up giving you some ammunition -

I love quantcast. I use them all the time. I used to own a cpc advertising network and that site came in really handy. I also did a lot of comparisons to my traffic and sites that I knew for sure how much traffic they received and it's fairly accurate. The difference between it and Alexa is that you get much more in depth demo information as well as actual traffic numbers, not just comparisons.
