Loading Images on Blog

The default screen when you click on the insert button, asks for a url. If the image is on my hard drive where do I get a URL? If I go to the Upload tab, I click on the browse button and select the image I want. Then I click on OK and I get an error message "Please tupe the image URL". How do you load a pictue? Is there some direction manual which I can go to to find answers to questions like this?
