Default Looking for solutions

I have a website KeysToFlorida.com that I have had for 6 months. Gets good traffiic and more importantly gets top 2 pages for many search terms on Yahoo and MSN. Problem is that Google for what ever reason does not like the site and has not cached the site...

I have sent 2 messages to Google asking them to review the situation and only received form mail back.

So I kept the site up while I started a new site Ocean30.com. Now Ocean30.com has 200+ pages cached in google and is getting good, however not as good as KeysToFlorida.com ratings. My first thought is that I would leave KeysToFlorida in tact till Ocean30.com had similiar ratings

So here is the problem.

On a number of my search terms on MSN in particuliar - I am 4 or 5 of the top 10 organic spots in the search engine 2 from KeysToFlorida.com and 2 from Ocean30.com and from time to time 1 from one of my other sites.

My fear is that someone will complain to MSN. Is this something to worry about?

If it was not for KeysToFlorida having page one placement on Yahoo for one of my primary search terms then I would just send a e-mail to my link partners from the 300-400 sites and use a 301 redirect to the Ocean30.com site.

So I am torn between the fear of having to many placements in the top of MSN vs. the higher placement of my older site in Yahoo and the loss of traffic that it generates.

I still get more calls from the KeysToFlorida.com site - the Ocean30.com site has recently caught up in traffic.

Looking for suggestions from those of you with more than 1 site.

An option that I am considering is to change my KeysToFLorida.com site to be my partners name and info instead of mine to help - don't know if it matters.

HELP!!!!!

Is there any duplicate content between the sites?

I didn't spend much time looking, but it appears to be the same site on both domains. If this is the case you should do the redirect immediatley and just be patient while ocean30 continues to grow. If ocean30 gets peanalized you'll have a real predicament and I'm sure one of your competitors will be happy to report this as soon as they notice.

I would not 301 redirect a domain with possible issues to a domain with no apparant issues, this can potentially place your safe domain in jeopardy.

My suggestion (As long as there is no duplicate content) is leave keystoflorida.com garnering its rankings in msn and yahoo and put your linking and optimization effort into oceans30 dont interlink the 2 domains, and see what happens.

I am still perplexed as to why google has such a problem with your first domain, it really shouldnt but hey im just some seo guy

When I started the Ocean30.com site - I started with the same core template, but started re-creating all the text. When I reached the point the site was getting traffic before I had completed building some of the content pages I copied some of the pages from KeysToFLorida.com.

Thanks for the reminder that I need to clean up any duplicate content!!

I think there are 5 or 6 pages that I need to re-write. Sellers, Rita page, Condo information pages, featured listing pages.

arg - forgot about the 1031 pages and the Capital Gains pages - I will pull them and see about using the content in a Blog format.

News flash - Three Years later - Google decides www.KeysToFlorida.com is ok again.

Image my suprise that past weekend when out of no-where my KeysToFlorida.com site starts placing on the first page of Google for many of my top targeted keywords. It is even in the top 40 for "Florida Real Estate" A while back I had targeted Florida Real Estate and achieved first page placement on Yahoo. Then I let the site drop off the radar again and now I have lots of work to do - can't waste the position and I have way too much overlap now that the site has started placing in Google.

No change on my home page, but did see some movement on internal pages.

I found Matt Cutt's comment about this PR update very interesting:

"we’ll be expiring some older penalties on websites"

mattcutts.com/blog/google-pagerank-update/

I never realized that Google penalties expire. I always assumed that whatever was causing the penalty would have to be fixed before it was removed.
Is this related to this post in another thread?

Ya think (smiley here)... and congrats on coming back from the abyss. I guess that's one of those older expired penalties.

Three years - and to the best I can tell - the penalty was from before I purchased the domain.
