I use to think Twitter was...well somewhat of a twit. But the more I use it, the more I see the benefit of it. Short bursts of information delievered to the masses (not me...everyone else). Anyway, when I searched here I only found 14 threads on the topic.
Are there others using it, and maybe we can list who we are on twitter so that we can follow others around. my twitter name is rmasse10 if anyone would like to listen in see ya

I have been using Twitter regularly and definitely see the potential for agents who want to carve out a niche and getting regional followers.
Suggested tweets: Good places to eat Twitpics of showings with brief reviews Things you're doing And most importantly -- links to useful & pertinent resources such as local news stories impacting real estate.

In regards to having to log into twitter, that's only if you want to engage in back-and forth conversations. Many people who are on twitter aren't on facebook and vice-versa so both is a good idea.
One way to syndicate your efforts is to get a free Ping.fm account. One update will syndicate to Twitter, Facebook, Myspace, Plurk, Jaiku, or just about any other microblogging site you want. You can also set up a ping.fm email address and can email tweets AND photos and have them syndicated to all of the services you're signed up for.

I'm with Nick, I change my facebook status when I want. I don't feel like dealing with another tool that I have to get people to use.

I wasn't suggesting getting anyone else to change the way they interface with their preferred application (facebook, twitter, whatever). Ping.fm is simply a way to simplify how YOU interact, and it's a huge time saver.
For example, I'm off to a poker tournament. I just now changed my status on Ping.fm -- and my Facebook, Linkedin, Myspace, Twitter, jaiku, pounce, mashable, tumbler, AND rejaw accounts were simultaneously updated. I have different sets of followers in each of those accounts, and they all got the update in their preferred network.

Cool thing is that ping.fm will also let me send pictures and update all of those social networks too. I'll be sure to send a picture of all my winnings tonight

? Whenever you post a new tweet, it updates your facebook status with that same message. That makes it a lot easier.

Robert ~ I think we started a similar thread a few months ago, but it died due to lack of interest. Twitter is funny because it doesn't make sense to a lot of people at first, but you can get hooked on it. I actually come across a ton of great information on Twitter and really enjoy it. There other big benefit that I have found on Twitter is that you can gain access to some people that would otherwise not respond to you. If you engage in a phone call or e-mail, so people have the fear of a long conversation, while Twitter limits your comments similar to a text message.
As for SEO on Twitter, I don't see much of a benefit. Up until a couple of weeks ago you were able to put a URL into your profile, but they have eliminated that. They also no-follow your homepage. The only thing that I have seem people do effectively in regard to SEO is promote link bait on Twitter. Sometimes people set up fake accounts and "follow" thousands of people. This can work because people are curious who follows them, so they check out the links. I am not suggesting that anybody do this, but I have seen it work.
