I would love to start a topic on how to increase traffic and PR to your articles. I recently found a website that has a section about Charlotte, that allows you to post your articles.

Write a killer article and get it featured on the Carnival of Real Estate. Outside.in is a nice place to get featured as Google sees it as authoritative.

Try to get your National Broker (not sure which you are with like Re/Max, KW, etc) to feature an article you write on their national site. Huge PR bounce.

You asked that from an SEO perspective, so that is where my opinion is going to come from.

People that blog and follow you on social media can be a good place to submit them to. (via Twitter, social networking, email, carrier pigeon...whatever works...grin) They are often better syndicators than the "syndicators". Why? Because they know you and value your expertise.

Let folks in the industry know what you've written...truly connect and form relationships with them...and write killer stuff with substance. I know it sounds strange, but it works. Less posts , more friends, more substance.

I agree with Eric - building a twitter profile and being active on StumbleUpon and twitter are much more effective. These two tools can really drive traffic!

You may set up your blog to automatically send your latest posts to twitter stream.

If you are using WordPRess for you blogging platform there are a range of plugins that will do the job. Twitter Tools is one of them.

If you are not using wordpress and have a RSS feed you may use a service such as twitterfeed.com to automatically feed your RSS to twitter and Facebook.

I would urge caution with this. Social networking is not social business networking. When you go to your kid's (or whatever) baseball game, are you handing out business cards?

@smuck, I think that we all need to wake up and smell the coffee, huge brands such as Chevrolet, Today Show, General Motors, Honda, Southwest Airlines, Ford, Marvel , Samsung, Kodak and a bucket load of others are all using twitter for social marketing. The word "social" is no longer "what you are eating and where you are going" , it has become far more advanced supporting the big boys in the biggest industries, allowing people to connect and converse.

And Yes, You might not hand out your cards at a ball game, but I am sure that you will make sure that all your peers over there know what you do for a living one way or another.
