I would love to start a topic on how to increase traffic and PR to your articles. I recently found a website that has a section about Charlotte, that allows you to post your articles.
http://outside.in/Fourth_Ward_Charlotte_NC I'm sure this websites covers your area. I just joined and posted my first article. Does anyone else have any tips and tricks? ![]() |

Write a killer article and get it featured on the Carnival of Real Estate. Outside.in is a nice place to get featured as Google sees it as authoritative.
Try to get your National Broker (not sure which you are with like Re/Max, KW, etc) to feature an article you write on their national site. Huge PR bounce.

"Where all can you submit your articles to?"
You asked that from an SEO perspective, so that is where my opinion is going to come from. People that blog and follow you on social media can be a good place to submit them to. (via Twitter, social networking, email, carrier pigeon...whatever works...grin) They are often better syndicators than the "syndicators". Why? Because they know you and value your expertise. Here's a post by Joost de Valk on the power of doing that with Twitter: http://yoast.com/twitter-clients/ Let folks in the industry know what you've written...truly connect and form relationships with them...and write killer stuff with substance. I know it sounds strange, but it works. Less posts , more friends, more substance. Just my opinion. Hope that helps. Eric

I agree with Eric - building a twitter profile and being active on StumbleUpon and twitter are much more effective. These two tools can really drive traffic!
You may set up your blog to automatically send your latest posts to twitter stream.

Social media sites are an okay source of traffic for me but it is a lot of work.
I get most of my traffic by having my blog as part of blogging communities like technorati and other places like that. Also, when it is an exceptionally good blog entry, I send I submit it to digg.com and mixx.com where ai get a small amount of traffic from those.

I have started using all these sites mentioned recently and have figured them all out. The one which I feel might be difficult is Sphinn, after I signed up and created a profile, I had to wait 24 hours to do anything else. Today I submitted an article and a couple hours later, I could not login. I asked them to send a new password and no reply.

Just to add my 2 cents. Use a backlinks checker to see where the links are coming from and going to from your website. Discard links from/to banned or dead sites ( usually PR0 ) and leave those with PR1 and above. You will find a sudden surge in your PR soon enough. Monitor & manage your backlinks for a consistent PR.
Here is a resource which I use Link Checker . It will not only help you to decide which are the links you don't need but also tell which backlinks with high PR is your competitor's website using. A wonderful tool. |
