I received an email today from these people requesting a link exchange. The lady actually went through the trouble of filling out the contacts page on our website.
Here is what it mainly said: Dear All, I have been given the task of getting links for our websites that have good page rank on the links directories. In addition we have many categories so your site will be place on an appropriate page. If you would like to trade links please send me your website details. If you are not the right person please pass this on to your webmaster. Mandy Reid Link Development She actually left the address and phone number. I don't know if it is a real working number or not. I looked at there website http://www.cashette.com . After reviewing there site I find that im not interested in the link exchange with them. However the "Get Paid For Spam" seems to be an idea. Not really sure how legitimate. Maybe some here have had a run in with this company or someone else like them? However I thought that there technique was a pretty clever spam idea in it self. well If they like to pay me to get spam, I can do it.
create a dummy account and they can email me all the spam they want.... overall, it's a bad idea....

my problem with this is that if your friend sends you a message and it's deemed spam there going to ask your friend to pay them to let the e-mail through to you. Now as a business person, this would mean that any clients or prospective leads that try to e-mail you could also face the prospect of having to pay money to send you an e-mail.
And I think we all know how people can be about paying any money or giving any information over the internet. So, in my opinion, bad idea. |
