Default Why Isn't my Google PPC Ad Showing?

I've been running Google PPC ads for about 6 weeks for various real estate keywords. My report says I'm ranking an average of 1.9 position for my main keywords campaign variation, but my ad doesn't show up at all when I do a Google search (no, I'm not signed in). What gives? Using the same cpc dollar amounts, I was displaying in positions 1 through 3 until now.

My account ran out of money and I didn't have ads running for two days and just added more money to my account. I've received at least one ppc lead since I added the money to the account several hours ago, so my ads must be running somewhere, but I'm not getting the typical number of leads I used to get before this short break in my campaign. Can someone please tell me why my ads won't display? Trying to get Google to answer is like trying to lasso air...

My ctr and keyword density is better now than when I started, yet my ads were ranking better even back at the beginning...I'm so confused! I ran the optimizer tool and the only thing it suggested was adding the term "real estate" (yeah, right) and capitalizing the beginning of each word in my url, which I did.

It's like I'm being punished for something, but I don't know what -- input please?

I just ran another search and there's my ad again -- right back up at the top...this makes no sense to me as I have plenty of money in my account and there's no reason to randomly stop my ads. Have any of you experienced this?

Hey Sharon,

Did you check the quality score for your keywords? If you have a low quality score, they will rarely show if not completely stop showing. As you probably already know your ad won't show every time you do a search for your keyword term, especially if you are bidding on a very competitive keyword. It will also take into consideration what your daily budget is, and what your settings are for showing your ads. You have to options to choose from when deciding how you want your ads to show. One is Standard, which will show your ads evenly over time, and the second one is accelerated which will show your ads as quickly as possible.

Hope that helps

Depending on your overall daily budget, when you have "Standard" ad distribution set, your ad may not show up every time a user's search terms match your keywords. Think of it this way: If there are 900 user queries per day matching your keywords, and your CTR is averaging 10%, that would be 90 clicks, with an average of say $1.20 per click. That would be over $100/day. So, if your daily budget is only $25/day, Google knows your average CTR and tries to even out your ads so they will run evenly throughout the day instead of spending your budget in the first 6-8 hours. That means your ad will be shown only 25% of the time that it could have. The option of having your ads displayed for every matching query could mean your budget would be spent early, and your ads would not be displayed after that happens.

Good Answer. There is a setting that will allow you to post all of your ads in as little time as possible but I don't like that setting for 2 reasons. 1- you know your competition is clicking the ads and this gives them an opportunity to run up your bill quickly(Even though you get a credit for this at the end of the month) and 2-I would want my ads distributed evenly throughout the day in order to try to get a wide ranging audience.
