Default Rookie here!

Hello,

I am new to search engine placement. My only site is http://www.idahoagent.net. This site was built in January. Through linking I have managed to get my PR up to 5 but I am still not even listed by the search engines. I have been submitting monthly for the last 5 or 6 months but without any success. When I check other sites that rank for my key word (Boise Idaho Real Estate) their PR's are lower than mine yet they are listed! Any advice that might lead me in the right direction is appreciated.

Thanks,

Jim

Dont sumbit to google just wait for google to find you through your inbound links, pr doesnt determine where you are ranking in the serps only how often and deeply you will get crawled. if you want to rank for 'boise idaho real estate' you need to get links with your keyword as anchor text.

One other thing, add a sig with 'boise idaho real estate' as your anchor text, you will get a link every time you post here.

Thanks!!! When you say "anchor" does that mean the words I use to link to my site?

Hey Jim,

Just a few corrections to help you ask questions n stuff.

I think what you are trying to say is that your pages are not coming up in the SERPS (Search Engine Result Pages) for your keywords.

When you say you aren't listed, most people would assume your pages are not in G(oogle). They are.

It looks like you might be a victim of the dreaded "sandbox theory". Keep getting links pointing to your site with the kewords you want in the anchor text, and wait patiently. The "anchor text" is the text that's clickable when you see a link.

Thank you all for being patient with me. "Anchors" are something that I will have to fix. I do not have any consistancy in my links (oops!). I am self taught so this has been an intersting journey. How long does it typically take to get a site into the top pages of search engines?

Jim, that is really too tough of a question to ask....kind of like asking how hard it is to drive a car. There are too many variables involved...competitiveness of the keywords you want to rank for, number of pages, back links with the anchor text you are looking to rank for, etc.

You may want to check out the keyword tool at www.mcdar.net , it will give you an idea of things you want to work on to help you rank for a certain term. Adding original content about Boise, real estate or related subjects wouldn't kill you either. Good luck.

Also it doesnt hurt to add your link in a contectual paragraph if your partners will accomodate you.

Please use the following code to link to me (If I was you)

Boise Idaho real estate agent Jim Johnson has been selling Boise Idaho real estate for many years, if you would like to contact Jim or find more information on Boise click the Boise Idaho Real Estate Link in the paragraph link above

This adds proximity contectual relevance to your backlinks
