Default Access to mls data feed

So in my area we have access to mls frame. Its kind of nasty. So I would like to write my own solution. I guess I have few questions.

1. I talked to my local board of realtors they said they had recently decided to not to give out data feeds. From reading this thread http://www.realestatewebmasters.com/thread3281.html. It seems that I could go back and show them the guidelines and I might have a small hope they will reconsider. But as people said the rules are open for interpretation. If I try to approach the board does anyone have any suggestions in trying to have them rethink their policy. This would be ideal because I program and like having control over the site to make modifications at 3 in the morning.

2. The board sticks by their policy of not releasing datafeeds . Is there any solution to get a data feed from another source.

It depends on how aggressive you are willing to become. The MLS is a membership organization, find out your membership privileges and responsibilities by reading the by-laws. Discuss them with an attorney for clarification. I think at the very least you can ask them how they came to the decision and what if anything would get to reconsider. If you can get other brokers to join you all the better. If you want to take an aggressive stand from the beginning have a lawyer send a letter requesting the information and to request all communications go through him or her. If there is anything a board fears most it is the possiblity of a law suit. Disclaimer: I am not advocating a law suit.
