Hi:
IF the domain name can help at all with SEO, and IF someone were to start a 2nd site, and IF the domain name might help in having someone actually click on the link.... What are your thoughts on: NorthOrangeCountyHouses.com OrangeCountyRealEstateFinder.com yes, they are long. just sounds a lot better than realestatebygreg. Or I can get more specific with FullertonHomeSearch.com, but figure that might be limiting. Or let me know if I'm whacked-out wrong! |

ok then, how about OCHouseGuide.com

Are you sure concentrating your efforts on starting a new site with a new domain name is really the best use of your time?
I feel that as long as your domain name is pertinent to the industry (includes a city name for example), the domain name on a long tail link to your site doesn't really effect the click through rate. I'd much rather coach you to concentrate on building the linking portfolio for your main site than to spread yourself thin across multiple. Nonetheless, from the ones you listed I like OCHouseGuide.com the best (because it's the shortest).

Thanks Steve:
I already had a second site, and it does well in some searches. I took advantage of some specials, switched it to a new template http://dev86.rewtemplates.com/ and added IDX. I built it up as far as I plan to (but you know how work is never done). If I can get a couple of sites to show up in the top ten, why not? OCHouseGuide was my latest GoDaddy purchase as I figure it was better than the others. You going to Canada at end off July? I'm all open to someone coaching me to build the linking portfolio for my main site . |

and "no", I'm not sure that starting a new site with a new domain name is really the best use of my time?
But it's done |

OrangeCountyRealEstateFinder.com I like the domains. The descriptive names may help on clicks-through-traffic. But the long domains are hard to brand and to market for type-in traffic. |

i just realized that i would probably regret later on for having a long name. my idea is to keep this simple, but i never know what i'm going to do.

How about buyorangecountyhomes.info? I'm working on a blog and I've run into the same problem that you have. I don't want to limit myself to a city and in any case most of the good domains have been registered. I'm thinking of using county+property.net which is two words. |

If not I am sure there is custom work that could do that.. I would like all the listings that showed up on my home page to have at least one picture. IMO. Looks good though.

the homes on that front page are all new listings. sometimes agents are slow to post photos, and then I think it takes a day for them to get posted on the REW system. I have the listings there purely for content, but I can see where it might look bad to the viewer.
