Once I learned this simple method of building my business paying for marketing campaigns was over!
Everybody can and should use something similar to this simple method. It does not matter what business you are in! It works for all businesses! It works for Real Estate Agents! It works for Insurance Agents, Financial Planners, Personal Trainers, Hair Stylists. Party Plan people, Car Salesmen, Lawyers, Doctors, Dentists, Chiropractors, Carpet Stores, Mortgage Brokers, Home Improvement companies, and I can go on and on! This method works for any business that has customers and needs more customers! Here is how it works.... Every time I meet somebody, whether I already know them or not, I will ask them about themselves! If I know them, I will ask how things are going in their business. If I don't know them I will ask them, I will eventually ask them what they do for a living. Guess what they will do? After they tell them about themselves, they will ask me how I have been or what I do for a living. I will quickly tell them in a concise way about my business. Once I tell them, I will stop talking or change the subject! They may ask for more information, If they do,,I quickly answer and continue the conversation. Never do I ask them to buy anything, do business with me and never do I go into a recruiting presentation! When we part, I will ask them for a "few" of their business cards and say " I like to have business cards of everybody I meet." When they give me their cards, I give them a couple of mine. I do not say anything. I just hand them my cards! Now the Fun Begins.... As soon as I get home, I enter their information in my "Contact Manager". I then send them a " Nice Meeting You" or " Nice Seeing You Again" handwritten card. I do not send them any propaganda about my business nor do I talk about my business in any way. Do not send on company letterhead and Never send more business cards. Remember they already know what you do! Often they will call and thank me for the card. I will make a note in my contact manager to send them another personal card in 4 or 5 weeks. This card will just be " I was thinking of you" type message. Again handwritten and nothing about my business. Usually you will get a call from them thanking you for the card. At this point I will end the conversation by saying " By the way Joe, I like sending my friends birthday cards to my friends, what is your birthday?" I now enter their birthday in my contact manager. I will never miss sending them a birthday card. I will then make a note in the contact manager to send them another card in 4 or 5 weeks. This process is continued with everybody I meet. My goal is about 2-5 new contacts each day, Sometimes if I am at an event, I will meet many new people. At the end of just a couple months you should have hundreds of new people that will know and remember you....and they will remember what you do! Before long people will be calling you about the business you are in and actually interested in your product or service. I know you are thinking that this is difficult to implement... It is not. You can automate this whole process so you can complete the process in just a few minutes each day! I have posted a link below my name that shows how to make this very easy to do. Again, it does not matter what business you are promoting because what you are promoting is your greatest asset...You! By the way, I'd like you to be my friend.
