Goes out to Morgan and the rest of the REW staff for a great REW Summit. It was really nice getting to meet everyone at REW. There is something to be said for putting a name/voice/forum avatar to a face!
It was fantastic meeting and talking with all the other customers as well. There was a lot of good ideas shared and strong connections made. Well worth the trek, I mean trip to Nanaimo Thanks again, and looking forward to next year!! |

Hey Shane.
Fun meeting you as well. Hope you have a safe trip home! I could not agree more that the Summit was a great time. Thanks to Morgan and REW for an awesome few days...BTW, I just posted a few of the photos Gary Ashton took of the Summit here on my REW blog. More to come as well.

Looks like you guys had a great time. So what would you say would be the biggest "Aha!" you learned at the conference this year?

Hey Steve;
a) Wish you were there too bro. b) I came away with two things. 1 First Morgan never ceases to amaze me with the different and creative uses of the IDX for Search Engine Friendly purposes. Seriously, some good ideas there. Wish more people could have seen and tried that stuff out on their sites. The lead manager was SOLID. More tweaks to come on it, but sure want one of those for the RE/MAX office. 2. I came away (again) with more friends to share ideas with and more friends to collaborate with / do business with / have fun with. Yes, I have learned it I guess, and I try to teach it and live it...but it continues to amaze me how much of my future comes from the present in the form of friends that stay up late and work on projects with. In that regard, this year was outstanding. Final aha moment....Acme Ribs and Sushi after the conference with 7 good friends for "Frugal Friday". See you all in 365 days for another round. That was good fun.

Steve,
Good question, I had a couple of "aha" moments: 1. The connections were truly great. Getting to share ideas and talking with like-minded people who are equally passionate about the same topics as I am. 2. I understand the lead manager and how to fully use it. Action Plans are great BTW. 3. Brainstorming new ideas on how to better utilize the data we available in our sites. Looking forward to implementing a lot of the ideas from this year and going back next year. Maybe next year I will have some TechForAgents schwag to wear :P |

Hey Shane/Eric,
Hi Steve, never had the pleasure but I did get to meet Shane and Eric in Nanaimo. Both great guys. To me the most rewarding part of the time in Nanaimo was the affirmation and encouragement I got from meeting others with the same passion about their business and belief that doing all the things Morgan and the REW staff do for us and people discuss not only is worth all the time and effort but it really works. It was a great experience to meet people across the country getting 20-30 new registrations a day. Knowing what I know and seeing that all this stuff "works" is very motivating for me.

Was a great trip - those that missed out, should really plan on making the extra effort to attend next year. (I believe REW is shooting for September next year as the pencil-in time.)
Was a great pleasure meeting everyone. As Ben said, its really quite a motivating experience. You have the opportunity to share ideas with some of the best & brightest in the industry. Can't wait for next year. ![]()
