As I have said before a link from a site using LM is not one I would take. Just wanted to give an example of a site that has used LM to gain tons of PR as they are passing none and the links pages have now been removed from G index as are many others that have been using LM.
www dot buyersutopia dot com/ is the site in question. There are many here that link to this site that are getting nothing in return (including some of the featured members). This is just an example and everyone nneds to be made aware of the risk of linking to sites that use LM. Even if the page is cached when it rests on LM site as this one does there is no value. It is really easy to see that it is on ML server as the url will look like so: www dot linksmanager dot com/buyersutopia/ Hope this helps some of you out.

You are exactly right on this one. It bothers me that they're sitting there with a PR6 when it is so obvious that they are gaining links that are not in a natural fashion. The link from their home page is to linksmanger dot com. Shouldn't the bots recognize this and devalue the PR for the site? Am I missing something? Of course I can't complain since I have submitted to directories and etc. Maybe I'm just jealous because I'm not using it
What are your thoughts on using LM? Also, what are people's thoughts around buying links through a link broker? In looking at this site's links they have some nice links on high PR sites that are in an advertisement section. Quote:

We do not know that the site in question has a PR6 due strictly to its backlinks. There are many factors that go into PR and linking is only one of them. It is not just LM that is causing problems. Between 7/22 and 7/28 Google de-indexed pages and banned hundreds of sites that have one thing in common - directories. Here is a thread at webmasterworld with 50+ pages of comments Does Google Ban or Filter Web Directories? I have been advocating for many months that we should be cautious with reciprocal type directories on a real estate site. Why, because there is growing evidence that Google is penalizing what they consider pseudo-directories. At the very least this type of reciprocal linking should not be the only form of linking one does. |
