The results are getting uglier by the day.
Three sponsored results followed by one lone link (this is a new one), then news, then local, and finally half way down the page we see the SERPS. Should we still refer to Google as a search engine? Perhaps, Ad Agency would be more fitting. Here is an example: http://www.google.com/search?sourcei...x+real+estate+ |

That is bad. I used to use Google almost exclusively, but lately there's a lot of junk showing up in the results -- particularly cross-linked blog information. I've gone back to Yahoo and MSN and tend to get better natural search results.

Google is going downhill big time. So much for the "Do no evil" approach they where going to take. It is clear that their #1 priority is their shareholders.

Does anyone have any idea what the lone link is between the sponsored results and the local is?
I keep seeing it when I search Phoenix Real Estate If you don't see it, hit the search button a couple of times. Last edited by Salt River Media; 08-15-2005 at 06:51 PM. |

The local results make sence to me, what I get is under phxrealestate the first match is has links directly to other pages of her site

I would agree with this. I thought my opinion was bias since I have been breathing SEO for a while now. My coworkers, none who know anything about SEO are agreeing that google seems to be getting less and less relevant.

Thats odd... I didnt see it until i noticed you said hit the search button a few times an BOOM! there is is...
And with no description or anything... just a odd like with a black text after is and then the domain under it... I wonder.... Maybe a scripting error? Glad it doesnt do it for San Diego.. but the local results suck!.. For Real Estate near San Diego you get: a Hotel A big bank mortgage company and a General Serivces Department of the state ... Whatever that is.... It's NOT real estate. Come on Google... Work correctly or I'm Putting you back in the box, returning you and getting a refund! Quote:

Congrats SanDiego, You're the only one who read the post well enough to "get it".
