I would be interested to hear user opinions of our generic website product aimed at estate agents (mainly UK market).

ROb, perhaps you need a lesson in forum etiquette but you do not come toting your products on forums as your first post, they will always be deleted. I suggest you go to introduce yourself forum and do just that. THen contribute a bit to the forum, then try pluggin your website services, you will have a lot better luck

Dotmagic,
Just to add, I was going to reply also same as webmaster. I did go to your site, and I am sure this seems like a review forum. Since you are here, and replied back, we know you are here, what I mean by this, people spam and they are gone, and never visit back. He keeps coming back cleaning the forums, etc. WELCOME This webmaster is really nice guy, wait till you get to know him. Look around and do a search about him and his ranking you will see what I am talking about. He truly tries to help, and goes out of the way. He was like this to me also..JUST KIDDING Disclaimar: I am in no way connected to webmaster, or getting paid to say this. ![]() |

I agree with all of the above, but just GENERALLY, as indeed you put it.... forum etiquette.
But I must say, and as a programmer of 20 years exp. I run a fairly sizeable forum for web developers and designers (address not supplied), so i know all about forum etiquette.... and indeed remove spam posts from *some* forums. We do however have a forum for 'website critique' (or website reviews as you call yours)and actively encourage users to post their links.... after all, how can you review something with no given URL? Here's my thinking:- I want a review of my demo real estate agent website product (aimed only at real estate agents and their webmasters I might add) Why not pop along to what could only be considered an authority on these matters (a real estate webmaster forum) and post a link to the website in their WEBSITE REVIEW forum? After all, it is a real estate agent website, is it not? Does this sound un-feasable? I was after a review, not backlinks and certainly not PR as this page has 0. I did not use any specific link text, just the site url, and as far as keywords go... ahem... forgive me if I describe myself well. I'm sorry, but which ever way you cut it, I feel a little done here.... With legitimate intentions, I feel this forums bureaucracy has gone a little mad. Ok, looks like I unitentionally got off on the wrong foot in this place... so maybe a fresh start is in order. |

Agreed on the wrong foot thing here, you might be the exception as 99 out of 100 posts like yours are just dropping by to drop a link, however I think you miss the point of a site review in the context of this forum and perhaps it is my fault for not clearly defining its purpose, but the members here are here to improve their search engine rankings and own websites. We are a collection of webmasters.
You are asking for a Product Review not a website review and this is where you are getting lost. The title of this forum is not missleading, nowhere does it say "Product Review"

I did just look at your product btw, I suppose realtors in the US and Canada must be spoiled as it basically is an MLS search which is free to all realtors if I am not mistaken. Dont get me wrong, if in the UK if they dont have MLS then this is a great feature to offer them. Not a bad product at all, but its still not a site review
