Default I had a PR10 dream...

I had a dream last night that I was now a PR10. Needless to say, it was just a dream, still PR0, but it is a new site. I guess I dream big! How often does google update the PR, anyone know?

webmaster will become famous soon enough
Default Re: I had a PR10 dream...

typically every 3-4 months
As for Pr 10, probably never going to happen with a real estate site, but good news, it isnt at all necessary, you will find that top ranked agent sites range from PR 4-6

Keep in mind it isnt about how high your PR becomes (One PR 6 link will make you a PR 4 most times) but certainly wont do much for your rankings.

What you want is to use appropriate anchor text, (A range of your keywords not just one code sample) and make sure you are linking with relavant sites that do not violate any search engines terms of service.

The next PR update should be anytime now... it's done quarterly. But remember, with 8 billion+ pages in their index, it can take a month or more for your page to get updated once the update starts. And google says they will not be "supporting" the page rank in the tool bar any more... it is for entertainment purposes only. (whatever that means) So even after the PR update, you may not see any change in the tool bar PR.

It was a quote from a Google high up at a conference... don't remember where I read it. He also said they will be removing page counts from their search results, so it will no longer say 1 of 10 of about x pages. Page counts have been an issue between the seasrch engines... so most if not all search engines will stop quoting page counts. I just found that interesting...

With PageRank in the Google Toolbar being only used for "entertainment purposes" only, there really isn't any need to have the toolbar anymore.

I'm curious if anyone knows whether PageRank in the Google directory will be "approximately" accurate.

As for "page count" on Search Engine results, I don't understand why that would be an "issue" for anyone. Assuming the results are still numbered, there is still a hierarchy of search results, so there is no "real" difference. What's the point of removing page numbers? I don't mind, I just don't get the point, unless it makes it easier to squeeze in advertising results.
