Default Experience with iHomefinder?

Hello-

I'm wondering if anyone has experience with iHomefinder, both as a software IDX solution, and as a company.

I recently had a demonstration and was quite impressed with its many features but it also seems a bit pricey.

As a web designer, I am admittedly brand new to real estate design and would appreciate advice as to other IDX solutions.

Thank you,
tajackson

Talking Re: Experience with iHomefinder?

I had Ihomefinder on my website for a couple of months. It is a good product, but I was the first person to have there IDX solution in my area so there were alot of kinks. New photos would not upload, land lisitngs I had would show up under mobile home searches(I do not evern deal with mobile homes), number of bedrooms on condos would not show up, etc... I think it is a great product in areas they have been servicing for awhile. I just switched to www.smartrealtysolutions.com, they started in my area and it is a great product. When comparing Ihomefinder and smart realty solutions, I would go with Ihomefinder if they have been in the market you are targetting. Ihomfinder is not a better product, it is just MUCH more affordable than smart realty solutions. I have IDX and VOW set up on my website through Smart Realty Solutions and it cost about $200 a month. As an agent Ihomefinder cost me about $60 a month and $200 to set it up. I hope this helps.

Thank you for your advice.

I'm not quite sure why being new to the area would make such a difference in quality of service. Isn't it just taking a particular MLS's feed?

The information and the way different mls boards send out the feed are different. There are different laws with each state on what information can be included in the feed. Ihomefinder was having a hard time getting any response from my local board office, so they could not correct the problems. I think after awhile they just gave up and I was stuck with a search on my website that showed listings that were pending as active, new photos would not upload, etc... You can check the smart realty solution search out on my website at;www.PrestonGuyton.com.

I see. Thanks again.

BTW, your website is very attractive, although you might check the "Meet Preston" section - it says you enjoy spending time with "family and fiends" - which, of course, can be a great way to spend an evening.

People in general are so cheap when it comes to their real estate website and the IDX solution associated with it.

I homefinder is the best and the most inexpensive system out there; and if you are seriously in business then whats $60 or $100 a month for the core piece of your advertizing which is centric to EVERY other piece of advertizing you put out there as an agent. It makes absolutly no sense to skimp on the website when you put the URL on everything that goes out to send people back there to capture the leads.

We have been developing websites in partnership with iHomefinder for years and they are the best team of people to work with.
