I read in a post here, and tell me if I'm wrong, that achor text is internal hyperlinking of the keywords for a specific page in your website and that it helped in getting your site ranked.
So if one of my keywords was "California Real Estate," then whereever I used California Real Estate in a sentence I would hyperlink it, pointing to the specific page I'm on using the full URL. Questions: 1. I've been visiting a lot of websites of people on this forum that say they are high in the rankings for their keyword terms and I don't notice that they are doing this, instead they are just bolding any text that may be important, is there something I'm not seeing? 2. Lets say I have a page on my website for how to buy a home with no money down and one of the keywords for that page is "No Money Down." If use that term on another page in my site, should I hyperlink it to the no money down page? Here is an example of what I've done to one of my pages...I would love some feedback about this issue. www joshuasloanrealtor com/rent_to_own.shtml. Thanks.

1. because is shouldn't be done. it looks bad and has a very spammy appeal to it. Maybe after the end of a paragraph it would make sense to say .......and visit my *Pacific Beach Real Estate* page, but not every single time that the term Pacific Beach Real Estate appears on your page.
2. I would as long as it doesn't do so multiple times within the same paragraph. Same thing as #1. http://www.joshuasloanrealtor.com/rent_to_own.shtml I don't see anything wrong with linking to a few other pages within the text, but linking back to the same page is IMO not good. Google is smarter than that. They know what your site is about and the factors that will or will not rank you don't depend on linking internally from the same page IMO. Mike |
