Hello,
I found a site that ranks #1 on Google for "Los Gatos Real Estatae", and as you can see the estate is spelled incorrectly. When looking at Google's cache it says that: These terms only appear in links pointing to this page: estatae I however, have had trouble finding whon what site this anchor text link is coming from. Does anyone know any way that I can find this out? ![]() |

Thanks Patti, I did go ahead and try it your way, however, I still was unable to find the reciprocal link that reads the word "estatae". If you search on Google for "Los Gatos Real Estatae" we come up #1, and the cache says that link is somewhere. I am hoping to find it for research purposes.

Jeremy, not sure what patti sent you. Before the last update you could use G's commands to find out all kinds of information. I tried an allinanchor: los gatos real estatae, but was unable to find the link you are talking about...as nothing came up. The allinanchor: command is supposed to show you pages with anchor text containing all of the terms after the : But, since that last "update" things have changed a bit....and I nobody is sure why. I just hope that those nice little tools G gave us to work with are not going to be useless now. I did a search using @los gatos real estatae as well, but that gave me 110k results...and I did not have time to go through all of them.

I can't help thinking that you're asking the wrong question.
I'm not sure which site turned up in your search for Los Gatos Real Estatae, but I'm almost certain that Google simply ignored the incorrect spelling -- or even asked you "Do you mean ....?" -- and gave you results for L...G...R...Estate. The chances that someone has a misspelled link are remote and I think you're likely to be looking for something that just isn't there. Duncan |

Well, I appreciate your input. I wish it was that simple. But go do the check yourself. Search for "Los Gatos Real Estate" on Google, and you won't find the site in question www.sanjoserealty.net until about spot 163 or so. Then search for "los gatos real estatae" and you see www.sanjoserealty.net in the first spot. Then check the cache and you will see it says:
These terms only appear in links pointing to this page: estatae So do you have any feedback in regards to that? ![]() |

I see where you mean and I get about 20 backlinks. Somewhere in one of those backlinks must be a misspelling, but you'd have to go to every site to find it. If you want to compete with that misspelling just have two of your link partners use it linking back to you and you should get placement for it. But I'd check it with a keyword analyzer to determine if it's worth your while.

Hey, are you saying you want to rank for estate spelled wrong, or you don't want to. Anyways, i looked into your question and it looks like someone spelled estate wrong in the vicinity on the link and since no one tries to rank for it spelled wrong, it comes up number one. If you want to rank for this get a couple link partners to put up your anchor text with it spelled incorrectly. most will oblige. i don't know why you would want to though as los gatos real estatae gets searched less then once per day. heck los gatos real estate only gets searched 6 times a day. maybe there's a better key word you should be targeting. one that gets more then 6 searches a day.

Thanks for the help. I have no intention or desire to rank for the keyword spelled incorrectly. I just felt that if I could see the site where it is listed incorrectly It would help me to process what kind of site the link was on, what the PR was etc. so I could ry and see if I could generate any information that would benefit me in choosing future link partners.
Such as, if 1 link from this kind of link partner carries x amount of weight etc. I could be wasting my time, but things like that help me. So if you happen to know the location of that link and how you found it, I would greatly appreciate it. ![]() |

if i remember correctly it has very little to do with the weight of the site, it's just the lack of other people spelling it incorrectly. the word estatae was in relevant text within close proximity of the link. I don't remember which site it was. Your only showing 20 back links though. I think you need to work on that more.
