Just curious how many of you are flying solo and how many are getting regular marketing and coaching help from a "Coach" or coaching service like HobbsHerder, etc. for your business.
If you've used one in the past but no longer do please also share your experiences here... thanks.

I currently work with a power agent in my office. I provide her with some $$$ and technology consultation and she provides me with 1-2 hours a week where we look at what I am and am not doing and my success with my business. It is 100% 1on1 and very personal in nature. I think that the two questions you need to ask are:
1. What am I looking to get out of this? 2. Will I actually commit to following through on the suggestions made and/or tailor them to my business? If you can answer #1 and are unsure about #2, then you aren't ready for a coach. My philosophy is simple: Why make mistakes yourself when you can learn from someone else's mistakes and move right on to success? Not to say that I am anywhere near perfect but I think this philosophy leads to quicker mastery of anything in life. |

Thanks for the reply. I've actually been with a nationally known real estate coaching outfit for about a year so I'm not new to the coaching concept. They've been great and really turned my business around in 2005. However, things have changed substantially with them since I first joined and I don't feel like I'm gaining anything out of it anymore. Therefore I'm looking around at other options and also wanted to hear from people as to whether or not they think this is a valuable service. I personally like the idea of having a coach for two reasons:
1. Guidance and Systems: In and endless sea of marketing gimics and tactics out there in the real estate world they give you guidance based on what they know has worked for themselves as well as other clients. They give you solid set of systems from which to operate and you can modify them to fit your style and market area as you need to. 2. Motivation and Accountability. They motivate you to constantly push yourself to get to the next level. I've been on end-of-week teleconference calls where members discussed their results in a group with the coach. I would think I was doing great with one new contract but I would listen to some of these other agents on the call who would consistently get three or four listings or sales per week. That definately motivated me to work harder. Just putting some feelers out there for anyone else who has used coaching services and what their experiences were, be it good or bad. Thank again,

Flying solo, but think I might start some coaching next year just to keep me on track. Have a baby coming in the next week or so and am worried that I might get side tracked a little. Having someone to answer to can be a good thing. Not really willing to pay for it so planning on setting something up with an agent in my office. If will be a win-win for both of us...just need to find the other gent now.

I like the idea mentioned of an 'agent match'. I have been tossing around the idea of a coach as well. I'm currently building a team & sometimes get sidetracked it seems. I was recently listening to some online testimonials about a coaching company & they mentioned 'teaming up' with an agent similar to you volume-gci -wise or someone just above where you are but not so much above you that they wouldn't 'get' anything out of it. They also mentioned doing it with someone outside of your area.
Well I'm in SW Florida & would be interested in doing that with someone. We can discuss 'figures' off line ![]() Thanks!

Hi,
You might also consider finding a helpful manual or book and connecting with someone here on the forum. This prevents a feeling of your success detracting from someone else in your office. -Peter |
