Default resale KB Home

I recently decided to buy a new home and I am going to go through the entire process. Problem is, I am not sure I will want to
a. wait for the home to be built
b. be able to afford it once it is done(since I don't know what the price is yet)

so my question is:
Does anyone know if KB prohibits selling their homes right after you buy them?

is this a good or bad idea?

why not call the New Home site your interested in and ask...
I know that some of the builders Do that but allow for unusual circumstances if you absolutely have to sell.
My personal opinion has always been : You own it, you SHOULD be able to sell it!

Even if you signed an agreement with builder that stated it prohibited you from selling your home, or selling your home within a specific time, there is no judge that would award a settlement to the builder if you broke that contract. I have several investors and I know several sales representives that work for builders who say that those addendums are there solely to give the appearance you can't flip the home.
What if they buyer lost there job and couldn't afford payments. Or they got transferred to another location and had to sell. Those addendums are used for intimidation because it doesn't benefit the developer to have a bunch of flipped properties in a development for sale while they are trying to sell the rest of their inventory.
I'm not a lawyer so if you get into trouble, sorry, but this is my opinion from my experience.

One thought, how is it that you don't know how much your home is going to cost if you already have a contract?

As for your question, if you own it you can sell it. There are some condo conversion places that tried to put in a no sale clause that I have run into and my investors sell anyways. Never has the company even tried to enforce it as there is no way they would win. With that said talk to an attorney before making any decision like this that could land your butt in court. Laws in every state are VERY different and what might work in IL may not work in other states.

True^ but I have experienced that it is actually easier to sell your new construction condos with resales in the bldg. it's hard for resales to compete with new, and the the fact the property may not be resold within a certain period of time is mostly done to speed up new sales, Most of the questions a SA will get from a prospective purchaser is "are resales/ rentals allowed'"? most people dont wa t renters and/or investors, having said that it also depends one the community and location.

As far as answering your question read through the conrtact (if you have one) and if not call the sales office

KB builds homes not condos.
