Does anybody use relo packages? If so, what do you usually put in it?

Hi,

We use relo packages... mine consist of the grocery store real estate magazines, sight seeing things to do from the visitor bureau, a 8.5x11 tourist map, and our promo information.

All packed into the Post Offices "if you can seal the tape, you can ship it" for about $4. I get 5-10 requests per month, I call to confirm address and discuss any specifics also to find out if they are already working with another agent, etc. ... I end up sending out 2-3 per month.

I think it's more of being able to "offer" a relocation package in ad's and websites. Makes it appear you're maybe more organized, or a larger outfit than one's who don't offer a "package".

No magic bullets; just an overall well thought out business package.

It's gives us a reason to call them and that's the hook. People now a days don't want to be called unless you have a reason. We also weed them out before we send out the package.

Of the people that we end up sending them to, maybe 1 in 3 will stay true to us, the rest we seem to not ever hear from much again. Then we call them a few days later to follow up with them to see if they got it. Another excuse to call them.

Keep the lines of communications open, that's the key. Emails, letters, flyers, that is all fine and good, but talking on the phone is key.

I'm compiling an e version of relo package complete With tour and restaurant guides, neighborhood info and staff that I'd want to know when I move to a new city. It'll cost a fractionof what I used to spend.

Join your local chamber of commerce and they will give you relocation guides for free. Title companies also have area relo guides. I also found this travel guide for the whole state of California http://www.nxtbook.com/nxtbooks/sunset/cavg06/index.php

and was thinking of contacting this company to have them create something like this.

Maybe another option would be to create a slide show using the virtual tour technology about each city and then email those to people?
