Hello,
My dream is to work within either commerical or residential real estate in the near future. Within the next few months I would like to obtain either the salesperson or brokers license (California). My current thinking is that since I'm already going to put work the work in, I might as well extend myself and go for the brokers license (I'm exempt from the work requirment bc I have a BA degree - GO BEARS! . Any opinions on this decision? Would hiring employers frown upon someone jumping straight to a brokers license wo experience? Exactly how much harder is the brokers exam vs. the salesperson exam? My intent is not to branch off on my own in the immediate future. I really just want to position myself for success. Any info/opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! |

I would suggest to crawl, walk, run. It is good to first learn the basics by taking your Salesperson exam, then take the Brokers exam. It is especially smart if you only want to do sales to begin with. There is a lot on the Sales exam that is not on the Brokers and vice versa.
