Default Slowly climbing out of the sandbox

My site has been online for 3.5 months and i am just now starting to get out of the sandbox.

For my top 3 phrases, i am starting to not only see them in the serps, i am seeing them move on a daily basis:

- Boulder real estate #330
- Boulder Colorado real estate #406
- Boulder homes #41

I am seeing the top two move up about 30 places every two days and seeing the last one move up 7 every two days. Not more than a week or so ago i couldn't find any of them in the top 900 even though i was ranked #2 for each in "allinanchor".

So it looks like the 150 backlinks i have added (some thanks to you in this forum) in the past two months are starting to pay off.

So thank you for everyones help.

Have a site that has a PR3 and in the dmoz, google and alexa directories with some decent relevant backlinks but after almost 6 months have yet to hit the serps. I know I'm new to this but it's getting frustrating. Arrrrrgghhhhhhhhhh!!!

OK, now that I got that out of my system I feel much better and will go back to being a patient rookie webmaster.

HMiller, just had an aargh moment myself when the forum dropped my post!

I have a New York property page you can add your site to. It's new so don't be put off by the current lack of PR.

* get your site submitted to DMOZ
* drop the frames or atleast get the noframes portion coded
* don't have your images off site, they're on someone elses website - or they appear to be.
* use a stylesheet instead of having laborious font and style tags. <h1> says it all, if you need more the .css file should hold the details. Don't make the spiders work harder than they need to.
* most <img> tags should have alt attributes
* all <a> tags should have title attributes

Your site looks really nice but there are some technical details which are letting you down.

I hope this helps

Sarah

Sarah,

Thanks so much for your post and for the link. I've reciprocated the link at http://www.tassonerealty.com/usagents.html

The site I was referring to was the second one in my sig, I think you were referring to the first one which is a template website in a can from a company with an awful product and even worse cust service. I'll be changing companies soon and the frames and other seo limitations on that site will be corrected.

The site I was referring to tassonerealty.com has a PR3 and is in the google, dmoz and alexa directories and has been indexed for about 6 months but still not in the google serps. It's a pretty basic site and I'm sure there are some seo strategies I'm not using but I think I should still at least be somewhere in the serps by now. I've recently added a site map so maybe that will help. I think it's just one of those be really patient situations but I just emailed google and hopefully they can shed light on the subject.

So thanks again for the help from down under. Have a great day.

Henry

Aaaah, I see!

I've approved your link and it's live on the NY Property page in #1 position.

I checked out the tassone page and you still have stylesheet and h1 tag issues there. They're not the "be all and end all" but you do need to get the basics right before you sweat about the other stuff.

I checked your backlinks and they're all yours! None of your link partners are yet PR4 and your in DMOZ page is only PR3!

I checked out one of your listing pages: http://www.tassonerealty.com/id78.html You should change the <title> tag to include the description of the property. Having "Listing 1" is throwing away a chance to load up your site with valuable keywords - and what's more it's an easy way to have diff key words on every page. The H1 thing crops up again too
Code:
 <div><font face="Verdana,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif" size="3" color="#000000">
<DIV>
<FONT face=Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif size=4>Fishkill Glen, Route 52, Fishkill, NY</FONT>
<!--"''"--></DIV>

I think there must be something about the sandbox that's preventing me from climbing out. Despite being #1 and #2 for allinanchor & all the other allins at GG, I'm still listed miserably low for my term:

h@rd m0ney lend3rs

I think the sandbox factor must be turning into quicksand!!

Randfish, you've got PR4 now, so that's good but it looks like a hot keyphrase you are fighting for. Your new DMOZ listing will help too: Business/Real_Estate/Commercial/Lenders/.

Just to help you along I've created a links section for hard money lenders and added you to it.

Sarah

Sarah - That's incredibly sweet. I can't remember anyone ever doing that for me before. Thank You...

By the way, the PR in the toolbar shows as 4, but the Google directory, which updated last night, shows the new PR as 6 - http://directory.google.com/Top/Busi...rcial/Lenders/

The DMOZ listing has been spidered by Google for about 3 weeks, so it doesn't seem to be providing much boost, unless GG sandboxes DMOZ links too, in which case I won't feel the benefit from that until October.

btw Sarah, if there's anything I can do for you, let me know!

Links baby links!

To either of the main sites in my sig using the text shown, any description is ok. PM me if you'd rather take my listing.
