Hmiller., ignore your competition instead work on strong principals.
Take a look at the Sheridan and Nanaimo Links bottom left of the sponsored area, they are Yahoo Tests and you will see both are either #1 or #2 in both Yahoo and MSN. The principals are KW in title, meta desc and meta kw H1 H2 Paragraph H2 Paragraph (Repeat until you have the content you want and be sure to mention your kw at least once in each paragraph Its as easy as that! And this coming from the guy who is #1 in yahoo for SEO ![]()

There you go Henry.
How about that for free advice! Why listen to "bar talk" and "housewives chat" when the truth is available. Have just seen something written, that we were also taught at university, that there are three types of information. 1. When someone has read or has tested the facts, and repeats them. This is commonly called the truth. 2. When someone knows the facts, but says something else. This is commonly known as lies. 3. When the speaker has never found the correct information, probably doesn't even know that it exists, but is happy to join in the conversation, and offer an "opinion". In other words...myth, superstition, and bullshit. Another concept that we were taught is that "your value to the information pool of the 6,000 million inhabitants of this planet, will be judged on how many times you say, "sorry I don't know," and not on how many times you turn up the volume of the mouth when your brain is in creative mode and likely to produce MSB." An example of MSB would be, "What I think is, or, my guess is, ( both of which may have come unexpectedly during the night like a wet dream ), what do other people think?" It's just that..........
on this forum, as in others, the spectrum of comment varies from absolute gems based on fact, to MSB. The info that the boss gave for free is priceless, and obviously comes into the first category. Last edited by Jenny Barclay : 08-27-2004 at 09:36 AM. |

Thanks so much for the responses and I also love Jenny's way with words.
Jenny, I'm slowly but surely learning to sort through the "MSB" (and your above classic explanation of MSB is now tacked onto my bulletin board) . I've great respect for those, in any field, who have the dedication and commitment to master that field or craft and even more respect for those who share that expertise with others. The useful advice I receive in this forum is greatly appreciated and I hope one day I can contribute in the same manner. SEO Guy, thanks again for the free, but priceless info. |

Hi HMiller,
I've followed the advice of Webmaster. It was H1 p That's all and it works. Now I'm second on Yahoo for two keyphrases. For one keyphrase, the first site belongs to the government. And I can't seem to rank any higher than that. But anyway, I'm quite satisified with that. Last edited by rogerdan : 09-01-2004 at 03:52 AM. |

Yahoo is still a doddle!
Prior to March 12, part of our testing process was to use our own algo to create page content to be No.1 in Google without backlinks. Yahoo is still at the March 12 Google stage. Try http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=apa...=10&fl=0&x=wrt The page has no external backlinks and no anchors of that search term |
