Default Posts vs. pages

Here's my new blog I'm working on:
http://www.oak-lawn-il.com/

I'm trying to set it up to resemble a website more than a blog. I have created "pages" instead of making posts. Don't go too far into the blog as I have a lot of fixing up of the pages I've transferred over from another host and much more to add plus I have to make a few other changes. As I add more pages my menu will get cleaned up, too.

I'm concerned about my site getting spidered & cached. My Cook County blog gets spidered & cached frequently. I'm wondering if anyone knows whether "pages" get cached the same as posts, or at least the same as any other website page.

I learned by doing this that the "pages" do not go into the rss feeds like posts do. I have my welcome page set up as a sticky post with none to appear on the same page. But I can switch the "pages" to posts if that would mean faster caching.

I'd like to figure this out before I spend too much time creating further pages and having to start over again with the posts.

Judy

Judy Orr - 708-536-8200 (located in right-hand sidebar) is red over a burgundy background -- hard for me to discern.

Also, great plug-in for wordpress

http://www.arnebrachhold.de/2005/06/...rator-v2-final

that generates a fresh sitemap and pings google with each new post.

pcdoc,

Yes, I e-mailed the site designer for some help. Those hard-to-read areas seem to be controlled by the font for the entire posting area for some reason (the one area in the sidebar and the one in the footer). I'm going to try black today & see if it helps.
However, on IE the sidebar name/phone # shows up the gold color. Only shows dark in FF.

Do you not have an answer to my question? When I put the page through a spider simulator it reads everything, including the page links, so I guess it should be OK.

I did notice something weird. My site title, Oak Lawn Illinois Real Estate, repeats itself twice with the search engine spider simulator. I have only put in one title so I don't know why it's doing this. Maybe I'll need to go back to Wordpress Support Forums.
