Default If we managed PPC, would you be interested?

I have been around PPC for around 6 years and have often been asked if we manage PPC. Traditionally we have not, however talking to a lot of people at SES kind of got me interested in the viability of PPC especially for the real estate industry.

So here is the question - if REW offered a PPC managment program, would there be interest from the members?

Also, what would you like to pay for such a service if it were available.

I have been heavily involved in PPC - it is necessary with websites that did not offer seo, or were not seo friendly. I have many clients who use this exclusively and are closing an average of 6-8 deals a month from their PPC only. You can also use PPC when you are beginning an seo program and want to be at the top while your site climbs organically. Many of my clients use this in addition to their seo. It is a force to be reckoned with. I also have clients on the new MSN ppc, where the clicks are cheaper and you can run these on the weekend, by gender, etc.

The ads must be constructed properly with real estate in mind and keywords that attract visitors in just a few short words. These campaigns must also go to a good landing page.

I suggest hiring a company that understands this industry. Yes, you can set this up yourself and have a degree of success. In order to optimize the conversion on your ppc, it would be worth the initial investment to hire a company that is willing to train you on your ppc campaigns, so that you can fully understand and control this aspect of your business.

If you try to go with a low budget, let's say of $50, well the saying still applies - you get what you pay for. Also, while your site is climbing naturally, you can tell your prospective sellers on a listing appointment that your website attracts tons of buyers and that their listing will get local, national and even international exposure, depending on your area. If you are in a destination city, like San Diego, Los Angeles, Seattle, Florida cities, these are terrific ways to bring in business outside of your area. Sellers love it!

PPC campaigns will typically bring in buyers. The advantage to your sellers, is daily exposure regardless of your market.

Sorry for the long quote. 6-8 deals a month off PPC? I know that is not happening in my market, becasue I have tracked the Realtors that use PPC heavily and they do not have the volume of closings that the "big boys" do.
Of course, no one in my area ,IMHO, has a web site worth staying on and using for more than 30 seconds either (thank you REW). I sure would like to close 6-8 deals a month on PPC, I could afford $2 a pop on every KW.

Thanks,

I currently have a small overture thing going right now. But I wouldn't mind some advice on limiting my exposure to click fraud and maximizing roi.

I'd be interested in additional information.

Where, how and when would these be used? My site is doing excellent in most search engines, but still in the Sandbox with Google despite my PR going up consistently. I've had this site up and running for just about 4 months now. Would this be used in a similar fashion as Google adwords?

I am honestly not a huge fan of overture, I far prefer the interface of google adwords. The first hint I can give for guys like you, who already have traffic coming in from all over the place, create a spreadsheet of search terms that are bringing the site traffic, then group them into price bands - expensive (Area real estate) mid range (Well known but not as competitive - cheap (Here is where you can really shine) There are so many terms that bring in 5-10 hits a month if that, and noone is bidding on them, but that doesnt mean they arent 100% relevant. Create a spreadsheet of a few hundred of these and you can top bid them for like $.25 or less pretty consistantly - Oh yeah and the minimum bid on Google is only a penny

Hey Morgan,

Since you are dealing with real estate agents with "limited" budgets, (even though I am one of the people who asked you if you planned to offer it) how much profit is there on your end for this?
