Default Google removing back links

Did anyone encounter this? A lot of my backlinks have been removed.
Strange.

Many others have reported the same. No answers just speculation.

Googles back link display has been totally worthless (random display, no rhyme or reason) for about three months now.

Googles display of backlinks go up and down like a yo-yo but it seems like I do get more traffic when I have a greater number of back links showing.

I've been told the link: command now only shows a 'sampling' of backlinks and is not considered complete.

I have a site with a PR of 4 that used to show 2 backlinks from PR4+ sites (those are the only links to my site). A couple of months ago, those links no longer showed up with link:, however they still do link to my site AND my site still has a PR of 4.

Google only showing a sampleset is nothing new, they have always only shown a representation of your true count

Very true. I dont think they return all the backlinks sometimes when you ask for them. Im sure they are there anyways so there isnt anything to be worried about.
