Well I am going to make a leap here and say the online shopping season is almost apon us. It's the perfect time to make a major algo change. Why?? because people that get bumped from the top will pay for advertising.. It's a great time to shuffle the deck and increase advertising revenue at the same time.

All SEO's welcome changes in the algo as such events generate work. To SEO's it is therefore good news not bad news.
with an average of 5 changes per month for the last 9 months it should not be an unbelievable surprise that this process should continue.

There have now been sufficient conversations from G that indicate a constant battle against optimizers, and a determination that the SERPS should list "old fashioned HTML pages without optimisation" rather than the reverse.

Many webmasters and clients have been devasted since last November, and others have jumped for joy. I am in the camp that looks forward to jumping for joy, not drowning one's sorrows, with each and every change in the algo.
