Linking page headings
If I have a page heading of something like:
Collierville Real Estate / Collierville Homes for Sale and I link this heading to my IDX search for homes page, will it take away or diminish the KW factor? For very obvious reasons I chose those words as my page title or heading, I don't want to take away what ever advantage I may have gained.

No it will not diminish your density, the anchor text will be counted as on onpage heading as well.
