webmaster - you mentioned in an earlier thread:
"As vendors for the Socal MLS we are very familiar with the process for application and implementation of IDX. When you want an IDX datafeed, each individual site must go through the application process (Each realtor) you can't just buy a site with pre-packaged IDX as web developers are not licenced to show IDX data, only realtors are - we get the data so that we can process it for a realtor, once thier account has been approved by socalmls." I am working with several Realtors (active with SoCalMLS) to create sites for them. They'd like to have their active listings along with other "Featured" listings on their site. They have completed the IDX application process and furnished me with their IDX links - for active listings and for search. But they'd like a way to show off specific properties which are not their own listings. I am wondering if there is a way to gain access to the MLS to display property details if I have their agent ID and the property MLS # ? Or just what data is required to create a properly structure query to list the property information. Any help you can offer is appreciated! |

Here's a little more detail:
The agents don't mind the iframe IDX links, but they want a way to display single properties based on MLS # They have 2 IDX links -- one for their own "active" listings and another for "search" listings. But they really want a way to show off Featured properties that aren't necessarily their own listings. For example, they'd like to show properties in their "Farm" - even if the property is not their own listing. So they give me the MLS # and I have a page that shows that property - even if its an iframe and a 'canned' pre-formatted page. That make sense? I don't need a raw feed, just a method of displaying a single property based on MLS # (or based on whatever is required to generate a properly formatted URL) dtb71 |

dtb71 - we do not work with a framed option, we create the applications from scratch. SoCal provides us with a raw data feed for each client and we can then manipulate it to client specification (Although there are rules to follow provided by socalMLS such as broker reciprocity etc)
So in terms of the framed option, I cant help you as I am not familiar with it, I would call the SOCAL tech support.

Thanks for the response and extra info.
Is there a hefty price to pay to receive the raw feed? I understand the non-disclosure and daily update requirements and such, but what do they charge for the access rights? Just curious if it turns out we need to go that way... dtb71 |

BTW you should consider the raw data feed option, you can do some cool stuff with it ie http://www.guidetolocalrealestate.co...map-search.php

In terms of single use of the data, I believe it is free to all brokers in good standing (Regarding their membership to SOCal) - I would check with SoCal about usage and prices, our arrangements may be the same, may be different so I dont want to give you mis-information.
