Has anyone else noticed a recent shift in the Yahoo serps (Last 5 days) sort of thing?

From my understanding Yahoo is updating their serps. Apparently this update has not yet affected all parts of country. I dont know maybe all the datacenters? are not updated (does yahoo have datacenters?). Anyway I am not seeing an update locally but looking at my logs I am apparently ranking for terms I am not ranking for locally.
I wish I could see the updated serps. I know their is a way to look at other datacenters for google but I dont know about yahoo. |

Maybe it's the term. The Yahoo/MSN traffic together doesn't compare to Google on most of my sites but there's some good traffic to be had for most markets in both, or at least so much that it has an impact on the bottom line.

Just checked my rankings on my REW site and I'm seeing top ten placement for most of my main keywords.

I disagree that Yahoo! isn't worth chasing. Perhaps it depends upon your market.
Example: One of our sites that has been up since 2000 has seen a substantial amount of traffic from Yahoo! over the years. In the last seven days, for instance, it has logged 80,000 p/views from 17,000 unique visitors. Of that number, 63.34% came in from Google, 16.04% from Yahoo! and 5.79% from MSN. That's well worth pursuing in my estimation. I also think that while Google is the big dog right now hands down, things change. Optimizing for all the SEs makes a lot of sense when the tide turns - as it has so often in the past. |
