I am in the process of building a real estate site for myself and I have started very basic. I only have 2 pages with decent copy on them, my main page and my contact page. This first time I linked to this page was 3 days ago and I am already 9th in MSN ranks for "cambria real estate". I registered this domain a couple months ago but its nice to see msn's rankings updating that quick.
http://www.cambriarealestate.info Keep in mind this site is FAR from finished. Its still ugly lol. |

Yes, it is quick. I just used a new anchor text this past week for my recip links & I'm now #1 for those kw's. I only used it in a couple of links, too.

Yup - no sandbox for MSN - they love clean CSS websites, and just need a few links. What I found interesting though, is that they require little to no content, just proper titles, descriptions, an h1 tag and a paragraph. What I found though, is that my content heavy sites, actually do worse in MSN than my lean sites. Kind of sucks because my content heavy sites are that way for a better user experience and for Google etc - I had a client that forced me to create a site for them with very little content per page (Frustrating for me) but the end result, #1 in MSN for a very high dollar market. http://search.sympatico.msn.ca/resul...=56&FORM=REDIR
Meh go figure.

Actually fresh sites tend to rank very well on MSN for a short period of time. Their search algorithm REALLY favors fresh content/pages over about anything else such as linking or keywords. I've seen lots of sites appear top 10 on msn almost immediatly only to see them drop off fairly quickly as the content ages.

This is very interesting. I guess I can see you ranking well for that keyword because the competition isn't that strong but I also noticed you hade a google page rank of 4? Any idea how you did that?

keep making new sites every month with little content. Probably cost just as much as using PPC.
