I recently checked my site on Google and noticed they had only indexed the home page. I just created an XML sitemap today of my site as Google recommends. What are the experiences here with these?

I've been using them since their introduction for my accounts. Now, the benefits have gone beyond a simple index; just the analytics are worth "the cost of admission". Give G time, you will be indexed, unless you're doing something wrong, which G will show in your "My sites" page https://www.google.com/webmasters/sitemaps/ Pay particular attention to a proper robots.txt file, I like to include this User-agent: Mediapartners-Google* Disallow: as the first two lines (although probably unnecessary). Whoops, I can't find http://www.dynastyrealty(dot)com(slash)sitemap.xml although you may have named it differently, nor http://www.dynastyrealty(dot)com(slash)robots.txt not really necessary for google to index your site.

Thanks for the reply. As you might know, I am completely new to this. I did not know what robots.txt was, so I researched it and saw that it may be easier to just use a wildcard:
User-agent: * Disallow: Would'nt this be more beneficial? I'll try it out. I'm pretty desperate at this point, my site does not even place on Google under some of the imprtant keywords I would like them to. I'm trying an experiment though to change this by using an RSS creator to write articles that will be posted directly into a template I've created (I'm actually taking time to write useful articles). My goal is to come down to at least the top 30 on Google in 1 year. Thanks for the feedback pcdoc.

Andare - it takes a good year to hit the first page of google if you do everything right (And well) and even longer if you arent doing all the things you need to, so expect a long wait time.
In terms of the robots.txt it really is only needed if you want to "exclude" a robot - if you dont have one, it will not make a difference as bots will assume with no other protocol defined that they are allowed to do their thing on your site.
