Default Want land - how w/o a loan?

Hello, I am currently renting and looking to buy/build a house in the next 2 years. I am looking for property to start paying on to have it for collateral. Is there any contract that I can list in a paper to request something like a land contract or something? Make payments to the owner or something? I have a car payment and I'm not sure if I would qualify for another loan but collateral would be a major plus!!! Thanx!

There are land loans out there. These companies lend on strictly land only for a short period of time. The rates are around 12% and I believe a FICO score in the 600's is required. Collateral is always a plus with them.
