Eh Monk,
Call your MLS organization and tell them you want to integrate an IDX search on your website. Generally, they will either provide one for you, or they'll give you the names of IDX vendors that are approved for your MLS. Since you can't get a search unless you're using an IDX vendor that has an agreement with your MLS, it's the easiest way to figure out what your alternatives are. Hope this helps, Kathleen

Hey Kathleen thanks for the info
I dont know if i have to be a real estate agent to participate in this stuff, this is a new field for me since i just build sites based on seo and make money addvertising. Im a n00b when it comes to MLS, so be forwarned i will ask n00bie questions. If i dont have to be a agent to get access to mls vendors how would i come in contact with them. When i look up anything mls related on the search engines they just take me to other real estate websites which are not offering mls vending services. Last edited by monkeh; 05-30-2006 at 10:31 PM. |

That is actually incorrect - in order to gain the access (As a web developer) you need to go through and be working for an agent or broker, on contract or employment basis. The broker must sign the data access agreement, so technically the developer is not the one who sets up the access.

There are a few MLS's that will allow a developer to access data for the intent of marketing their services to brokers. Not many, but there are some. Now, if you want the data for the sole purpose of displaying it on your own website, then you are probably out of luck.
