Hi,
I just wanted to get some feedback on a site I have just made for a client of mine. San Luis Obispo Real Estate I am not personally an expert in the Real Estate world, so I thought it might be nice to get some feedback from some experts in the industry. Thanks! |

Well the frame is nice and clean, and certainly easy to navigate, but I'll be honest, the picture of the realtor looks terrible. It is like the site is making fun of him, I would suggest finding a different pic, or just not having one at all. One has to be able to take a realtor seriously as this is one of the largest investments they are ever going to make, they dont want to put it in the hands of someone making funny faces at the camera.
Please do not take this as me making fun of the realtors appearence as I am not, I am just saying that particular pose and that particular pic do him a disservice

it's a little too white i think. I'm not a big fan of the borders on the tables(the dotted lines) and i think you need more content and a recip link directory. besides that, everything looks good.

Thanks for the feedback everyone.
To follow up - when you say I need more content (Jason), are you suggesting longer city profiles for each city - or do you mean more pages like the city pages? Also, how will adding a reciporical link directory impact my pr/traffic? If I get some competitors adding their links on the site will this be a negative thing for my client's business? Thanks! ![]() |

The great thing about real estate is you never have to link to a competitor if you are worried about it, because tehre are millions of cities out there with realtors that you dont service, and for every city there is pretty much at least 2 realtor websites, so you can find many partners that are still relevant to real estate without them.
However that being said, I really thing the traffic you could potentially lose from a links directory is so infantisimal compared to the benefit that I say link to competitors if they ask (As long as they have a good site that is) I mean if there are any SEO's on here, I'm happy to link with them, even if they are direct competition. I say friends are better then enemies "especially" in your own market

with your content for each page, i think you could use more of it and you could use better structuring of it so that it ranks really well in yahoo as well. the link to a formula to use for yahoo is at http://www.realestatewebmasters.com/...=6472#post6472

The only comment I have is once you click "Search MLS", you're taken to an area where you can't just hit the back button and get back to the homepage. Didn't see a link back either.
More color would be nice also. Century 21's colors aren't much to work with but some more black and yellow would be nice. The information presented looks good and should catch leads.
