Check out Text-Link-Ads you can join for free and they sell text link ads for your site or directory, just like google adsense. You can get paid through pay pal every month and there is no min. amount before you get paid. I joined last week and they sold a link for me for $25.00/month. You can also buy links from them, like google adwords, but you don't pay per click it is a monthly fee. Great way to get one way links from high Page rank site.

You get paid monthly, I haven't gone one yet, but know people who have.

I've read some good reviews for text links ads and even I didn't use them I can say they are probably a good and einexpensive way to promote a web site.

I'm using them as a publisher like google adsense and they have sold two text link ads for my directory. $25.00/month per link and it's a 50/50 split.

I never used Text-Link-Ads, but I'm registered with LinkWorth, they do the same business, and they payed me several times.

I have around 28 links that pay me around 340 $ per month on LinkWorth, 50 %, I earn around 170 $ per month.

They just payed me several times, and you can imagine, I'm very happy with LinkWorth

Of course, I have a big Real Estate portal, and I have hundreds sites, I registered around 15 sites on LinkWorth, and I'm working to develop new web sites to earn more with links. I sell links also by myself with an average of 600 $ per month :P

People buy links, because it is the fastest way to increase Google PageRank, and to obtain some visits, when you increase your Google PageRank, you also go up into Google Searches, so People Pay for Links, to have more traffic by Google and other search engines, or pay to have direct traffic by links.

I never tryed Text-Link-Ads, but I think I will try it, when I will finish more sites.

Text-link-ads get 50% of the payment you shal receive fro the ads. If the commission was 25% it would be reasonable. 1/2 of your payment is to much however... and the paycheck you get is even for less since anyone has to cover to payment processing costs and etc.

My "contrary" opinion?

If you are a real estate agent and you need to earn $12.50 from a link, you need to change businesses. If you're a directory, you should choose whether you are promoting the agents listed in your directory or the people paying you for ads.
