so, i just got my postcards in the mail today.. I make my postcards in photoshop and use overnightprintss.com to print. i just noticed that comparative is not spelled correctly at the bottom left of the card.. I know most people will not notice, but some definitely will. it irritates me because i did fix the spelling, i just loaded the wrong freaking file.. Would you mail the cards and follow up with another card shortly after with the spelling fixed or would you just trash the cards? Damn marketing stuff isn't cheap...

I would trash them or maybe sell them to someone else disclosing the error of course. One only gets one chance to make a good impression, and from what I've seen on your website, your organization is very high speed. It's all about credibility and professionalism...but you know that, follow you instincts.

i appreciate the feedback. Thats what happens when I'm in a hurry.. Expensive mistake.. I will always have friends and co-workers proof my marketing materials from now on.. I'm still thinking about mailing and seeing what happens..

Kevin,
Don't feel bad. I hate typos so I'm very careful of my own print material (it is expensive)! However, I ordered some refrigerator magnets that were much more than postcards (they had cooking and other measurements/conversions). People loved them. However, when I received them I couldn't believe it. I had everything but my contact phone # on them! Duh! I guess when I was filling out the online form I "assumed" the phone number would automatically be put on there (as I must have entered it somewhere else when ordering). Of course, most people using the magnets could care less, but a friend or two pointed it out to me. Plus, I switched companies so if I had just put my phone # on the magnets, I'd be OK as that hasn't changed. That was a waste of money. I would probably trash the postcards.

IMO just mail them, most people will look past it and never even notice. Besides 95-99% of them won't even get read...sorry to say, so of the 1-5% that does look at it how many of them really would notice?

Mail them! Most get tossed anyway, so don't worry
Overnightprints.com is an awesome company. Vistaprint.com isn't bad either with the right coupon and use the glossy stock. |
