Default Goin' to Colorado

Whoa have I been busy the past couple of days trying to wrap things up for a trip to Keystone, CO. I've never been. We have friends getting married and they've invited family & friends to Keystone. I knew we were going to CO for their wedding but as they are avid skiers I assumed it was going to be a winter wedding. This is much better as I don't ski.

However, I've heard stories of people not being able to breathe because of the elevation and I'm kind of freaking out. I've read it's worse at night and I already have trouble sleeping and if I have trouble breathing on top of that, well, I bought some Tylenol PM.

I've been told to drink a lot of water & not to drink any alcohol. Hmmmm, I'll see about that last one. We'll be leaving in a few hours so you probably won't be hearing from me much for the next few days. Bye!

Hope you have a great time! Weddings are pretty fun! Not that i have been to many, Only really my sisters wedding....it's quite likely the next wedding i will be at will be my own since none of my friends are much in to the whole "gettin married" thing. But that wont be for a loooooooooooooooong time.

I'm in Santa Fe, which is at 7300 ft. The best thing to do is to rest the first day you are there. Don't overdo it. After that, move slower than you normally do and watch the alcohol consumption ;-) Take naps. Let your body get used to it.

Wow! This was the wedding of a lifetime! I can't believe my friends pulled it off. I only felt breathless if moving fast, although at the reception (12,000 ft.) I was hoping I didn't pass out dancing my first dance. One friend was feeling the altitude sickness, though, & I don't know what they had to do (she had to leave the reception).

Wedding was at around 12,000 ft. on a beautiful outdoor patio with the bride & groom standing in front of snow capped mountains. I can't even explain the beauty.

Thank goodness they didn't mention the 2 gondola rides as when I found out about them I actually had nightmares the night before the wedding. Closed my eyes on the first one but the 2nd one wasn't too bad. Very eerie coming down in the darkness, though.

Stayed in Keystone. Shopped & dined in Frisco & Breckenridge. Boated in Dillon. Wish I could have stayed another day but my husband had a gig last night.
