Default How do you all pick website colors?

I am struggling with a color scheme. Aside from copying someones that I like really well, I am not sure how to go about choosing something. How do you all do it? Is there a good "color picking" site you use?

Thanks!

i like this one,

http://www.digitdesigns.com/colrPick/framePic.htm

Gives you the chance to actually see it working,
Pretty basic but it does the job.

Or i sometime design a basic template then spend hours in fireworks changing the colours,Not recommended if you bore easy thats for sure.

Keep in mind that different colors evoke different emotions.

I want to envoke the "I need to buy a house" emotion. What color is that?

Thanks guys, I like both those sites -- will play with them. I will have no trouble spending thousands of hours changing my mind!

Resale broker is really on to something major here. Many studies conducted on color have determined repeatedly the same responses to different colors. For instance red stops people just like we're use to doing at a stop sign, and you can think of the logic regarding all sorts of other colors this way. Picking colors for a site is now recognized as one of the most important raw deals a webmaster does with the expanding web since so many surfers are making their mind up about staying on your site in a quick instant in the first place.

Good luck with your choices. You can find tons of info on this on the web.

Warnest Regards,
Mike
