What would it cost to exchange a template that was purchased for another?

Swapping templates is not as simple as just overwriting an index of one, and replacing with another, especially in your case because you have a custom IDX and that IDX has been skinned to fit your existing template.

Here is what is involved in template setup
CMS install (1 hour programming)
Featured Listings (1 Hour programming)
Forms and Lead Managment (1 Hour programming)
Design hours (Normally there is 5 hours as a standard for templates to change colors, add basic logo, change #'s in the header, skin featured listings etc) Seeing as you have an idea of what you want and it will take extra hours for skinning your IDX etc, you wouldnt buy a template "package" you would just do it hourly.

Now to save $ you could format your images that go into the slideshow (If you want a slideshow) Yourself. We could provide you with the dimensions the images need to be, and you could just crop and optimize for web yourself. If you dont want a slideshow, skip this part.

Colors - if there is an existing color scheme on one of our templates that you are already happy with, there is 0 hours needed to color your template to suit. If you do want custom color scheme for the template you choose, its as many hours as it takes.

IDX - this part you can't do yourself, we need to do this in CSS and make sure everything works and is fluid. However, if you basically want exactly what you have now, but on a different template, the hours would be minimal.

If you want to do this, I will grandfather you at the programming rate of $50 per hour (Our current rate is $100 per hour, so you are saving 50%) this only applies to this particular project because we discussed it before the rate change.

So anyways what would it cost? Lets say a min of 3 hours programming assumming no extra custom work is requested while switching a max I would say is 10 hours is there are major complications although I dont forsee any. So Programming $150-$500 (More likely on the $150 side)

Design - skinning of IDX is the only thing we really need to do ourselves, header and photos you can do, so skinning is probably 2-5 hours of design time $200-$500 USD

So total is likely around $350 on the low end, $1000 on the high end. For those of you with templates that dont have IDX's your costs would be lower as it wouldnt require skinning of IDX search, listings and details pages.
