Boy, you have a long road a head of you. However, you came to the right place here at REW. Your local board of Realtors (MLS) should have a frame in version similar to the one on my website. (Memphis-RealEstate.net)Then, if you want something with a truly functional and interactive IDX system you need to have thousands of hours of experience in programming or you hire an experienced company (REW) that knows what they are doing (REW) so you end up with what it is that you have in mind (REW).

The general estimate if you were interested I believe is between $1500 and $3000, depending on how your local board's system is and how many bells and whistles you want.

As an example, my in frame MLS search is $10.00 a month, but it is ugly and not very interactive, but will do until I get my "baby" done.

I hope this helped in some small way, good luck to you and your brother for sure!

Contact them and ask if they have an "Frame-in" MLS search option for their agents. It's not as good, but it is cheap and something to start with, not to mention it is easy to install.

Your brother can get a website similar to mine for around $1200 and then do the frame-in solution. Just FYI... Good luck !

I refer you to the first sentence I wrote in the first reply.
It is a long road, that most all of have taken. Keep reading posts here for insight on how to make it better and as visible as possible. For your first attempt you did a pretty good job on it.

Take a step back and view it from some one's eyes who has never met your brother and knows nothing about the area.

There are a few font issues, alignment issues that you could probably take care of. Don't fall in to the plagiarism pit or it will be a long climb out.

Question Re: how can i get IDX

What are you trying to do next? I glanced at your site and you are a Realtor? Which means you have access to IDX.

I want to take my MLS' IDX listing, and paint it into my own look and feel using XSLT.

I don't have a direct feed yet, only access to vendors provided by my MLS that want to sell me an IDX solution. I'd rather design my own and integrate it with lead capture.

Here with our MLS, you would simply have to have a few forms signed by both you and your broker. In your case it would be redundant in that you would have to sign the forms for the agent, with the brokers approval and then sign the 3rd party forms allowing you access to the feed data as if yo were a 3rd party vendor (which you would be acting as in this case).

Call your IT guy or gal at your board and see what they say.
