Default Website Leads and contact...

Interesting things (at least to me) are happening from our website and I'd like to get others opinions and thoughts.

Our website jennifermackay.com an REW developed website, is getting a significant increase in traffic. I'm getting what used to be a months worth of traffic every day. Not only that, but we are actually getting leads and prospects which we rarely got before.

Now for the interesting part:

These contacts are not filling out our contact forms. They are phoning us, and not from the 800 line but her direct line.

I find this interesting and baffling.

Is anyone else experiencing this? I don't think there is anything wrong with this as the leads have turned into viable prospects for the moment. It is just confusing me.

Please post your thoughts and experiences.

OOOH, 300 posts for me, YAY Do I get a gold star?

This is the best thing to have happen. If a potential lead actually picks up the phone to contact Jennifer directly, well, you can't ask for much more from your site. Some people don't like filling out forms. Some want information right away. Some don't want to give out their e-mail until they've established a good rapport. Congratulations! I get more forms filled out than phone calls.

Nice looking site Jessie. I wish more people would call me versus submitting forms. I do get a fair share of phone calls but I receive more form submissions. The phone calls leads are better in my opinion because they seem to have a more immediate need and don't mind actually talking on the telephone. Alot of these internet leads want to be anonymous for awhile until they are ready.

Thanks Marc,

I spoke to you on the phone a few weeks back while I was on your site (maybe you remember) and it was you and your site that convinced me to go with REW!

For some reason I just thought the contact forms would be used more.

Hehe, I'm not complainin' about the calls mind you

However they want to contact us is fine by me!

Jessie:

I agree with Judy. Some people do want information right away, and if they don't reach you on the phone, they might go elsewhere or hopefully they fill out the form. With cell phone coverage nationwide, I don't think people care about 800 numbers much. I have an 800# as well and get more calls to my cell phone. BTW - great looking site!

Thanks John I've been working hard on getting it together ,

I know for me, I don't mind filling out forms online, but then again, I'm not a typical surfer or buyer.

I find it very difficult to second guess the surfers. Guess I should just accept what they do and try and aim the content towards what they need at the moment.

thanks for the replies everyone

I remember speaking to you Jessie. I am glad you are happy with your website. Maybe you could give me a 15% referral fee for each lead you close from your website? lol j/k

These contacts that call you directly have the same mentality that I do when researching a product or service. They have done their due diligence and research and have came to the conclusion that they trust you enough for a phone call or they don't; and if they don't they are not going to waste their time emailing you or filling out a contact form.

The other mentality is that once someone decides they want information, they want instant gratification. They don't want some one calling them back in a few hours, or days; they want to know the answer to their question right then (that's why they are on line doing their research).

Of couse all this is just IMHO. I have the same type of personality.
