Does branding matter?
Short answer: Yes
Brand building might seem like a frivolous undertaking right now. During a recession, it can be easy to want to focus on numbers rather than image. But the two are more closely linked than some people realize.
A well-defined brand builds credibility, establishes trust, and creates a positive reputation. Solid branding can push you to the top of mind in a saturated market, making you more attractive to potential clients, partners, or even employees.
Step back and look at your own brand.
Is it feeling dated?
Was it created at a time when print media trumped digital?
If so, you might benefit from a brand refresh. As the world evolves and new technologies emerge, businesses must adapt to stay relevant and competitive. A refresh can help companies modernize their image, attract new customers, and appeal to the evolving tastes and values of their target audience.
Case in point - here’s an update we did to the RISMedia brand in 2021.
BHHS 10 Year Anniversary Marks a Brand Refresh
A recent example of a successful refresh is that of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices. At the wake of their 10-year anniversary, global Real Estate brokerage franchise BHHS unveiled a new look which includes an updated logo with a new color palette, and refreshed typography.
“Our refreshed look pays respect to our past and our core foundations of who we are as a brand and perfectly positions us for the exciting future ahead,” said Christy Budnick, CEO, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices. “We are a brand that stands apart due to our guiding principles and commitment to excellence, and this contemporary new design aligns with our goals as we celebrate our 10-year anniversary later this year and begin a new decade in a pivotal time for real estate companies.”
To update their brand at this time is a bold move. But one that will surely pay off for BHHS. It’s a classic look that will see them through the next decade (or more) in both a digital and traditional space. BHHS even made sure to stay true to their roots by holding onto that beautiful signature Cabernet.
Personal Branding in the Age of Influencers
It’s not just company brands that matter. Personal branding is also becoming increasingly important in today’s world of influencers and algorithms. In fact, Real Estate Webmasters has recently introduced an invite-only platform for Real Estate influencers which includes personal branding. We are working with industry leaders such as Sherri Johnson, Debra Beagle, Michale LaFido, and Jeff Lobb to shape their unique image in the minds of others through a powerful website and a strong brand.
Investing time and effort in brand building, whether it be for a global enterprise or a personal venture, will always reap long-term benefits. And if you’re not sure if you need an overhaul or a refresh, we can help audit your current look and feel and offer suggestions.
