New 3.0 Templates and IDX now available - and they're on sale!

In January we began testing a new IDX 3.0 system via our REW IDX brand. In March, LEC 5 launched as the very first website to have a "built in" or "search engine spiderable" version of this new backend / IDX technology - and now we are pleased to announce this technology is available in 3 brand new template designs.

To view live demo's of the new templates please go to www.rewtemplates.com - there are screenshots of the three new versions. Click on one and you will see the standard install. You will also see a dropdown in the sidebar that allows you to view the various color combinations available, and finally a link in the sidebar called "loaded demo" which when clicked will enable many of the most popular paid template upgrades, such as quick search, SEO friendly dropdowns, and featured listings.

Brand new 3.0 IDX - now available.

As promised, we have launched the brand new 3.0 IDX technology in these new template platforms - highlights include:

  • High end / progressive design (thumbnail, classic and map search results views, refine search, and amazing details pages)
  • New Map features - polygon refinement, radius refinement, optional amenities data feed integration, and "streetview" (in the map view itself)
  • SEO friendly URL's - we have completely reworked the URL structure of the details pages so they are even more SEO friendly
  • Enhanced snippet building technology - No more messing with code! Creating IDX snippets for page integration is now as easy as creating a search.
  • IDX "builder" technology - allows you to customize your own search application (enable / disable features, drag and drop them, control registration options, city lists and more)
  • Full photo view - at the click of a button have full resolution photos which automatically resize to each photo in the sequence
  • Templates also include by default the "slideshow manager" giving you editorial control over your flash slideshows. Change them any time you wish without a work order or knowledge of flash programming.

What is on sale during this awesome 50% promo? Here is a list:

  • New 3.0 templates: retails at $499 - promo price, $250
  • 3.0 IDX: (brand new with builder) retail $2500 - promo price $1250

I have been asked a few times already if you "must" have the new templates to participate in this promotion.

For the new 3.0 IDX - these 3 templates are currently the only 3 designs that have the new search - so yes, you would need to upgrade your template to one of these if you want the new IDX.

However - for any of the other common upgrade stuff (agent roster, streetview, birds eye etc) anyone can participate - you don't have to have the new IDX or the new template in order to order the other items for your existing REW website.

I want walkscore integration on http://www.realsourcebrokers.com

Also - can you show me an example of the multi-user blog?

Carlos Montes

Hi Morgan, I bought the T8 back in April but really like the 3.0 IDX. I'd like to know if it is possible to upgrade and what is the cost to would be? Thanks in advance for your time. The domain is wwwcarlosmontescom

Joshua Keen

And also curious if the IDX 3.0 is able to be plugged into my site and what the benefit of doing that might be. I love the design and the idea of creating snippets on the fly like that. And anything SEO friendly would help :)

Morgan Carey

Hey Josh - order for walkscore sent in - thanks :)

As for Multi user blog example - sure thing - http://www.realsourcebrokers.com/blog/

Confused? You already have one! :) - if you want Ben or others to be able to post via their backend / lead manager - just login to the lead management section, under manage agents select an agent, go to edit, then select "yes" from has blog yes / no

Morgan Carey

As for the IDX 3.0 being available to you Josh, it most certainly is - but not under this promo. The reason? You have a completely custom site (I don't need to tell you that, but for the benefit of others) - as such your entire framework needs to be redone - which requires a custom estimate (you can email me or post in the work orders forum for this)

For example - Marc Rasmussen loves the new IDX too - and he asked for the very same thing for his www.luxurysarasotarealestate.com custom. He wants to keep his design (other than the IDX) the same, keep some IDX peices and implement still others from the new IDX - so basically a franken IDX :) - I estimated his at around 60 hours, but his site is far more straighforward (less custom programming) than yours - so really who knows for you.

Another alternative if there are just a few features you like (such as the URL's or the polygons or something) is to ask to have your site / IDX kept exactly the way it is, and just have those specific peices hacked into your site.

I will not be estimating such complex / custom hacks here as I need to stick to the topic of this promo but if you require an estimate, we are happy to do so outside of this promo post in either the sales forums or contact your sales person directly.

Cheers

Morgan Carey

Hey Carlos - site / new template looks great! The cost to upgrade - technically you just order it. I'll look into it for you and get back after lunch and see what I can do.

Morgan Carey

OK Carlos so it looks like you have a "new template" with an "old IDX" - so you don't need to purchase a new template (already done) or any "modules" that you have already ordered (streetview etc) you just need to purcahse a new IDX from what I can see.

2paula

I like the "loaded demo"! I already have many features on my existing site (blog, quick search, featured listings) etc... can I transfer all of these? It looks to me that the additional items would be: drop downs, new idx, ?? what else? Can you call me, please?? thanks.

Morgan Carey

Sure I will call you Paula - and if you have the items on a previous template, they are no charge to move over (such as streetview, dropdowns etc) :)

Christopher Audette

I would like to order the walkscore integration in to my site please. CalgarysRealEstate.ca. Just to verify, there are no monthly costs for that are there?

2paula

Thanks for the call! I'm in for: Template upgrade, IDX, and dropdown.

Morgan Carey

Hello Chris, you are correct, there is no monthly cost for a walkscore tile integration.

The only things that carry monthly fees (generally paid by the year) are:

Website hosting (with backend) $49.95 per month
IDX hosting $30 per month
Onboard Informatics data feed: $20 per month

I think that's it - some boards charge fees for data access as well, but you as a member would be aware of those and they have nothing to do with REW's fee schedule.

I will pass on your walkscore request - thanks

Paula Henry

If I buy a new template with the new IDX, can I convert all the upgrades I already have?

Robert Worthington

Can an existing rew customer purchase add on features (google directions) at the 50% off discounted price for an lec 5?

Matt Scoggins

Morgan,

For my site www.atlantaluxuryhomes.com, I already have birdseye, streetview, directions, quick search and featured properties. Will all these be transferred over to the new template at no cost? So, all I will need to pay for is the new template and IDX??

CherryCreekPro

Hi Morgan,

Will the new IDX 3.0 become available for the Denver Metrolist agent template? If so, what features will be included by default in the base template, if any?

Will this work with my LEC1 as the current IDX template does or, considering the upgrade path, do you think I would be better off to hold off and upgrade to the next release of the LEC instead?

Thanks, Brian

judyo

I have some questions:

  1. Can I get the new IDX on my current template site (my Cook County site)?
  2. Do you get the new snippets automatically with the new IDX or is this only on the new templates?
  3. I already have Quick Search, Featured Listings, Google directions, XML/IDX sitemapping & maybe some other things - these would remain the same with the new IDX?
  4. Will my current control panel work or do I need a new one?
  5. What is the Amenities (Get Local) set-up? Can you show an example?
  6. If I opt for a new template, will my already paid for features (Quick Search, etc.) be pulled to the new template?
  7. I have i-frame IDX for my other site - will this be affected if I switch to the new version?

Thanks!

Jennifer Mackay

Since we just ordered the idx sitemap, can we get it at the sale price?

If so, I'd like to order the following also if available for my LEC

RSS snippet reader: - retail $100 - promo price $50

Walkscore integration: - retail $250 - promo price $125

Thanks :)

Greg Haraksin

i'll take a 301 redirect for ochouseguide.

walkscore integration for youragentgreg

would changing template and IDX affect current snippets and client saved searches?

Joshua Keen

Morgan,

Quick question - I have a construction contractor I work with who wants to build a website and he loves the REW templates. Thing is ... he does not need an IDX search. Is it easy to HACK this one here: http://t9.rewtemplates.com/ so it doesn't have the IDX search and he could manually add "listings" as a showcase for his projects?

SCP

I will take:

SEO friendly drop down menus - $125

Control Panel - $250

Walk Score Integration - $125

Thanks,
Shane

New 3.0 Templates and IDX now available - and they're on sale! - What are the cost factors if you have IDX feeds from 3 or 4 mls cities on the same site. We already have the feeds setup and are registered with the each mls. Also are the setup costs one time, annual, and what are the costs for hosting fees? Please explain

Michael Paul Eau Claire

Hey Morgan-

3.0 looks awsome! Each of the new 3.0 features address the tiny gripes I had in my head, so I want to talk about upgrading. And polygon search is a bomb I can't wait to drop on the competition. Questions:

1.) I assume moving all the content from my current CMS 2.0 to a new template and 3.0 is done seamlessly (that is, by REW)?

2.) Do you have any kinds of statistics or user anecdotes about how much better the new url structure is?

3.) What is a "Featured Areas Callout?"

4.) What is "XML / IDX sitemapping" and how does it help SEO?

Best Regards

Morgan Carey

Shakle thanks for your order - I will try to figure out where the unsubscribe to comments button is on this thing and let you know - cheers

Morgan Carey

Mike Trinch - 3.0 is the "new" IDX - meaning it will be the only one sold / available moving forward yes.

Morgan Carey

Paula Henry - normally "out of the box" upgrades (such as streetview etc) need to be repaid for if you order a new site, but for this template promo I have made an exception - so if it is a stock module or upgrade, you not NOT have to pay to have it re-implemented, just provide us with a list.

That being said - anything "custom" (as in you paid by the hour to have it hacked or something) would not move over as this is a brand new site - so if you wanted that implemented again, the labor required would be billable.

Morgan Carey

Robert Worthington - yes you are most certainly welcome to "get in on the pricing" for the upgrades on the list, even if you aren't buying a new template with 3.0 IDX. So google directions etc is 50% off for you during this promotion as well.

You cannot order the IDX 3.0 for an old site though (at least not through this promo, that would have to be a custom order) so for those wanting 3.0 IDX - they either need to have an LEC 5, or one of the three new templates ordered OR they can post a custom work order to their sales person / work orders forum.

Morgan Carey

BTW Shakle, there is a "click to unsubscribe button in the emails you are being sent - just click that and you won't get any more notifications.

Ted

Good afternoon Morgan

This is some great stuff - Congratulations

Can I incorporate the new IDX 3.0 on to my site chicago site ? it looks like alot of the stuff I have been looking for. If not , will this same idx be rolled out for LEC sites soon?

Thank you

REW Jenn

Hello Matt Scoggins, I am Morgan Carey's assistant. It think Morgan answered your question when he answered Paula's. She asked:

"I already have many features on my existing site (blog, quick search, featured listings) etc... can I transfer all of these?"

Morgan answered:

"and if you have the items on a previous template, they are no charge to move over (such as streetview, dropdowns etc)"
You asked:

"So, all I will need to pay for is the new template and IDX??"

In my understanding the answer is yes (based on this precedent), but keep in mind that you must also pay hosting (which I believe you currently do). (hosting is 49.94 month paid for one year = 599.40, IDX hosting is 30/month paid for one year = 360)

Let me/Morgan know if you would like to go forward on this.

Gary Ashton

Morgan,

I'll take Template, IDX, quick search, featured listings, xml sitemap and control panel for a new site + hosting of course. And I'll be at the conference to claim my additional 25% discount - see you there! :)

Morgan Carey

Gary, your order has been sent to billing - see you at the summit! Cheers

judyo

Hi Morgan, I think you're my sales rep. Most of my questions have been answered so I'll take the new template (tough decision but if it's the only way to get the IDX 3.0 then the decision was made for me) and pull over those extras I've already paid for on my current template (Quick Search, Directions, Featured Listings, Sitemapping, etc. - I'm sure you have them listed). I'd also like

However, I still have three questions:

1. Do I need a new control pane - what is the new one like - any examples?

2. What is the Onboard Informatics data feed - example?

3. What does the Featured Areas call-out actually do? Looks like it's just links in a box to the area pages - does it tie-in somehow with other portions of the site?

4. What is the 301 redirect tool and why would I want that?

5. I currently have a Wordpress blog built-in to my old template. Does the new template have a single user blog built-in? Would all of my old posts be moved to the new blog or do I have to keep my WP set-up, which will no longer match the look of my new template?

6. Is the RSS snippet reader for the blog (to get it on the home page)?

Once these questions are answered I'll place my order. Thanks!

4. I think I want the SEO friendly drop-outs but I'm not sure how I'd set them up on my site - do you have a site that uses them now to show me?

judyo

I don't know how that extra #4 ended up on the bottom of my comment, but please answer the question. Thanks again.

Matt Scoggins

Morgan/Jenn,

Put me down for: New template, 3.0 IDX, and XML / IDX sitemapping

Transfer at no cost: birdseye, streetview, directions, quick search and featured properties

I will be transfering my really old custom site (www.atlantaluxuryhomes.com) to the new template and IDX. Also, I just paid (like today) my yearly hosting for this site.

Morgan Carey

Matt Scoggins, as I mentioned to an earlier poster - normally your upgrades need to be re-paid for, however during this promo - we will move them over for you at no cost. This does not apply to "custom work" just modular upgrades like streetview etc. We also move your content and leads over for you (saved searches / favorites are not conserved)

Let me know if you have other questions

Morgan Carey

Thanks for your order Matt, I have sent it through - **important compliance note** as you know, your board is notorious for compliance demands - thus your IDX will be in essence teh same IDX, but we must make whatever changes they demand we do to bring it into compliance - I am pretty sure they approved - http://fmls.demo.idx.rewidx.com/ so it shold be representative.

Cheers - Btw are you coming to the summit?

Matt Scoggins

Morgan, Unfortunately I will not be able to attend the summit this year. We have a planned family vacation the week before. I am going to make it a point to get up there next year though. I know I'm missing out on a lot of great information and connections.

Since I'm not real familiar with the new 3.0 IDX, can you tell me the major changes made to the FMLS version?

CherryCreekPro

Hi Morgan,

Please sign me up for the following promo items for thehomecart com:

* 301 redirect tool: - retail price $200 - promo price $100
* Agent Roster Module: (for brokerages)- retail $500 - promo price $250

I'll be sending in my Summit registration with the invoice.

Thanks, Brian

Morgan Carey

CherryCreekPro: You asked - will the new IDX 3.0 become available for the Denver Metrolist market? That really depends on metrolist, I will check with metrolist and see if they are willing to approve the new template. Will it work for your LEC? Most definitely not - (at least not within the scope of this promotion, you could of course as for a custom quote as others have done) -

As for holding off for the next LEC - well, we only launched version 5 in March, so it will likely not be until 2011 before another LEC is launched. The bigger hurdle to be honest is Metrolist - as I have had more than enough interest in LEC 1-4 users to justify me paying for the R & D time to make purchasable versions (replacements basically) for those platforms. The pricing for upgrading an LEC might be slightly higher than this promo, but likely not by much once done. I'll keep you LEC folks posted in another thread. Cheers

Morgan Carey

Judyo - you had some questions:

1: can you get the IDX in a current template? No, not in this promo - it's only available for the new templates.

2: If you get the new IDX, you get the new snippet technology.

3: Those things that are "modules" that you have previously purchased would move over at no cost, but not anything "custom" - but customizations can also be moved over, it's just a matter of billable time.

4: You will be getting a newer one with the new template / IDX - it has everything you have but lots more :)

5: Ammenities / Get local setup - sure, check this link out: http://abor.demo.idx.rewidx.com/?view=map see the "options" tab on the right of the map? It has schools, hospitals etc - that is part of the amenities data feed - and also on the details pages, you get our proprietary "get local" module - here is the output on that - http://abor.demo.idx.rewidx.com/listing/6707833-1009-weston-ln-austin-tx-78733/local it provides all sorts of amenities on the map surrounding the property, as well as schools and demographics data based on the zip code like population, crime rate, financial information weather etc

6: Answered in number 3 above - yes.

7: I don't think so - is it an iframed IDX with us?

Morgan Carey

Jennifer - promo pricing applies to "new work orders" only - we cannot make promotional pricing retroactive - Sorry would you still like to have the walkscore tile? (you already have the snippet reader)

Morgan Carey

Dburne - your project is from 2009 and is an old template with 2 old IDX's - you would need to scrap that template and any work that went into it, if you want the new 3.0 IDX as you would have to start over. That being said - if you want to keep what you have, you are more than welcome to do so, and can order any of the other modules (like street view etc) at 50% discount - just let me know which ones you like.

As for a century 21 color scheme - there are none in the new templates, but as long as I am the one with creative control, I would be happy to produce one for you at no cost (because it's a large franchise and I can likely use one anyways) - the same goes for other folks with franchises (large ones) that don't have a color scheme in one of the templates that matches their brand.

Darrell do you still want the following with your old template version / non 3.0 IDX's?

  • Featured areas callout: - retail $300 - promo price $150
  • SEO friendly dropdowns: - retail $300 - promo price $150
  • Ammenities (Get local) setup: retail $300 - promo price $150
  • Google Direction : - retail $300 promo price $150
  • XML / IDX sitemapping: retail $500 USD - promo price $250
  • Microsoft Birds Eye View: - retail $300 - promo price $150

Please advise - thanks

Morgan Carey

Greg Haraksin: To answer your question, yes it switching IDX technologies unfortunately means if users have any saved searches, they will need to be asked to resave them in the new IDX (achieved easily with a blast email which is a nice way to reach out and introduce the new technology anyways)

Your content, and lead data will move over though - as for snippets, they need to be re-created but you don't have to mess with code any more in the new IDX, you simply fill out a form and hit submit and presto - instant snippet :)

Morgan Carey

Joshua Keen - you do not have to order the IDX to get a new template, so if your friend wants to use one, they can still take advantage of the promo and get one for the 50% plus the standard hosting. As you know, all REW backends come with a manual listings manager standard, so they might just be able to use it "as is" - but if they did want any customizations made, they could simply request that through the custom sales channel

Mr. Hagan

Hey Morgan,

Is "Get Local" avaliable in Canada?

Morgan Carey

SCP - you already have search engine friendly dropdowns (you mean for this custom site right? http://www.greaterraleighrealty.com - so no need to order that. I will send in your order for control panel and walkscore thanks :)

Morgan Carey

Mr Hagan (how are ya man!) - unfortunately the "get local" module is only available to our US customers. I'd be happy to hook your awesome LEC 2 up with anything else on the list though :)

Morgan Carey

Allen Finatri - 3 or 4 different MLS feeds means ordering 3 or 4 different IDX's and having 3 or 4 hosting fees. so 4 x $1250 setup + 4 x $360 yearly IDX fees. You would of course have to have a 3.0 tempalte website as well (you would need only one of those) so 1 x $250 for the site and 1 x $599.40 yearly website / backend fees.

Mr. Hagan

I'm doing well thanks, and you?

Give me Walkscore & Google streetview.

Thanks Morgan

mikey

Please put me down for a template, IDX and blog.

Questions:

- Do I need to order a control panel?

- Can you show me an example of walkscore? I don't know what it is/does.

Thanks, Mike

Morgan,

Do you have a demo setup for the IDX 3.0 search builder? If not, can you build searches based on address, schools, neighborhoods, short sales and bank owned homes?

Also, the wide 6 template comes standard with dropdowns and a featured areas callout. Could these transfer over to a new template?

Just a note, and for the benefit of others:

Your hosting charges will increase with an upgrade to a CMS 2.5 (the schema of the 3.0 template).

Because your existing site is a CMS 2.0 your hosting increases by 9.95 a month.

Your monthly IDX hosting charges remain the same as your site already has an (older) IDX.

For the benefit of others:

Hosting Charges - upgrading to a CMS 2.5 with the new template (hosting 49.95/month)

If you run a CMS 1 at $30/month - your monthly hosting increases by $19.95

If you run a CMS 2.0 at $40/month - your monthly hosting increases by $9.95

If you run a CMS 2.5 on an older template - your monthly hosting does not change

Side note: IDX hosting does not change with an upgrade to a 3.0 IDX - so, if you are running an older IDX and you upgrade to a 3.0 IDX your monthly IDX hosting remains the same.

Hope this helps!

Jenn

I am assuming your order is for your site www.oahmls.net (as it is the older one most in need of an upgrade). Please correct me if you meant your order to apply to your www.hawaiihomes1.com site.

I have put in your order for a new template, an IDX, and a blog.

Please note that upgrading your hosting from the CMS 1 on your old site to the CMS 2.5 of the new template increases your hosting by 19.95/month

Also you will be billed for IDX hosting on this site ($30/month - for 12 months = $360 annually)

Morgan is away sick today but I will talk to some of our other staff and see if I can get some answers from you on the control panel and walk score.

Thanks

Hi Jenn,

Yes, Oahumls.net . Morgan and I had talked about the upgrades on the phone, sorry I didn't consider that when I submitted my request above.

Thanks, Mike

REW Jenn

Mikey

According to Aaron, a wonderful resource, no you do not "need" the control panel.

Here is an example of a walkscore. http://www.justinhavre.com/idx/single-family/C3403951/walkscore.html

Basically a walkscore maps out how far a given home is from certain ammenities considered commonly desirable (restaurants, grocery stores, parks, bars) and then calculates these distances and assigns a given home a score out of 100. In short, it calculates its appeal for people who walk places, live a "green lifestyle" and do not like using cars, etc.

REW Jenn

Mike its no problem, It was easy to figure out and like I said, Morgan is away.

Btw, on a personal note, i am sooo jealous you get to live an work in Hawaii. My family owns a condo in Kauaii (poipu beach area) with some friends and I have spent years growing up da kine.

I have sent in your order for a template #9 (no IDX) for your contractor contact

You will be sent the invoice

Keep in mind this invoice will also include hosting for the year (49.99/month for 12 months = 599.40/year)

Thank you

I have asked some of the other staff to help me with your question. Hopefully we can get you an answer today - failing that, I am sure Morgan will answer it tomorrow (hoping that he feels better)

Morgan is currently out sick. I will see that he gets you a response on your questions re) moving from an older template to a new one. In the meantime I know this:

Yes you can upgrade to the new site/idx - that is what this promo is all about!

In terms of moving some custom "tweaks" vs. moving an custom "site" - it is hard to say. I do know that it will involve billable hours - the extent of which we would not accurately know until we recieved an estimate from our estimating team. For this promo, Morgan is allowing standard features from an older site to be "moved over" to a new template free of charge. However this applies only to standard features (i.e. no customizations). You are welcome to submit to our work order forum (below) to recieve a quote and judge for yourself.

http://www.realestatewebmasters.com/work-orders.html

I am sure Morgan will be able to answer this in better depth when he returns

Thanks!

Jenn (Morgan Carey's Assistant)

Aaron informs me that you can build seraches based on address, schools, neighbourhoods, short sales, and bank owned homes.

He is unaware of any demo on the IDX 3.0 search builder - but that does not mean it doesn't exist.

He is also unsure about the wide 6 template.

I am sure Morgan will be able to address the missing pieces upon his return. Thank you for your continued patience!

Matt Scoggins

You asked Morgan about the major changes to the FMLS version. Unfortunately Morgan is away sick today. Hopefully he can elaborate further but the best information I can provide you with at this point is to scroll up and read what Morgan wrote in the blog under the title "brand new IDX"

The FMLS that he sent you is a version of this IDX that Morgan was pretty sure was approved by your board.

I still have some questions before I place my order. Wish we could edit these comments, I look like I was drunk on my last one. Anyway, here goes:

1. I have an i-framed IDX for my Oak Lawn site from REW. I'm assuming it was set-up to register prospects through my main CMS (on my Cook County site). Would this change with an upgraded CMS? Would it still work?

2. I need to know about my current blog that is on my main site (Cook County - which is the site I want to upgrade). It is a Wordpress blog that was put in my site. Does the new template have it's own blog set-up? Will you be able to transfer my years of posts over to the new blog? I don't need a multi-user blog - just a plain old blog on the new template. My original Wordpress blog won't match the look and feel of the new template.

3. I still don't understand what the Featured Areas call-out does. It looks like a box with links - does it coordinate somewhere else on the website? Is there a reason to buy this rather than make your own?

If someone can answer these questions I should be ready to place my order. Hope Morgan gets well soon!

REW Jenn

Judy

Sorry for the delay in responding. We have been very busy. I have had Aaron answer your original set below:

1) No, you don't need one - but you might want one.
Example link here: http://www.realestatewebmasters.com/upgrades/cms-modules.php

2) It's Demographics Data Example: http://www.realestatewebmasters.com/upgrades/idx-enhancements.php
Example on the demo site.http://5.rewlec.com/listing/d5776608-677-boca-bay-drive-boca-grande-fl-33921/local/"> http://5.rewlec.com/listing/d5776608-677-boca-bay-drive-boca-grande-fl-33921/local/

3) It's a design element. it's just links in a box.

4) 301 redirect tool is a tool for creating 301 redirects.
Example and description on this page: http://www.realestatewebmasters.com/upgrades/cms-modules.php

5) he is unsure about this one. (This is a question for Morgan)

6) Yes.

7) Yes, we do have a site that uses them. http://www.richfine.com/

Next set of Questions:

1. If you were to change http://www.cook-county-real-estate.net/idx/ then yes. The iframe on the Oak Lawn site would break.
You may want to look into getting the IDX 3.0 Iframe for the oak lawn site.

2. Could order a blog $300 - and then some custom programming time to move over the posts to our REW Blog. 2-3hrs programming. (custom programming needs to be ordered through the work order forum)

3. Correct - it's simply a design element.

Hopefully this is enough to get you on your way. Please let me know if there is anything else I can do to help

Regards,

Jenn (Morgan Carey's Assistant)

Morgan

If i wanted to upgrade my Dallas County site to the new IDX, Would my system still work the same way. Would all leads still go to one lead system.

Also would my google directions and Birdseye view transfer over, or what would be the cost. Also i would need the stuff about the rebate to transfer also. What would this cost.

REW Jenn

Hello Mike

Morgan will be in tomorrow, and will answer your questions in more detail at that time.

A point of clarification - are you talking about wanting to install the new IDX on your old site or are you talking about purchasing one of the new 3.0 templates (with the built in IDX)?

If you are purchasing a new template, what you will see from the precedent on this blog is that Morgan is allowing clients to move their features from an old site to the new templates for no extra charge. However this applies only to standard (non-customized) features (so your bird's eye and google directions features should fall into this category)

I am not too sure about your rebate stuff however - if this is a customized feature on your current site the hours to move the feature over to a new template (if possible) would be billable (at the usual rate of $125 USD/hr).

I hope this has provided some help.

Jenn (Morgan Carey's Assistant)

mikepannell

it would be an old site

judyo

Thanks Jenn, I think you answered everything although the blog thing stinks - blogs aren't on sale, are they? Also the broken i-frame IDX if I upgrade - but I don't think I want to upgrade that. I should get my order in tomorrow.

REW Jenn

Judy - the "multi user blog" is on sale. It usually retails at $300 - promo price $150.

I am sorry, I will have to wait on Morgan to answer your question on the broken iframe IDX.

Let us know when you are ready to order, I will be happy to process that for you.

Jenn

REW Jenn

Hello Mike - from what I can tell, your Dallas site involved some custom work. As such, I think that Morgan's answer to Josh (below) might help illuminate ther situation. Of course, he can confirm whether this is entirely accurate upon his return. Thank you!

"As for the IDX 3.0 being available to you Josh, it most certainly is - but not under this promo.

He wants to keep his design (other than the IDX) the same, keep some IDX peices and implement still others from the new IDX - so basically a franken IDX - I estimated his at around 60 hours, but his site is far more straighforward (less custom programming) than yours - so really who knows for you.

Thanks,

Jenn

Here is my order:

  • New 3.0 template - promo price, $250
  • 3.0 IDX: (brand new with builder) - promo price $1250
  • Quick search: - already have - please move to new template
  • Featured listings: - already have - please move to new template
  • Control panel: - promo price $250 - this will be an upgrade
  • Amenities (Get local) setup: - promo price $150 (also carries a $20 monthly fee)
  • RSS snippet reader: - promo price $50 - still have a question on this
  • Google Direction : - already have - please move to new template
  • XML / IDX sitemapping: already have - please move to new template - although I want to map less areas
  • Walkscore integration: - promo price $125

I will also need to incorporate a one-person blog into the new template and will need to speak to someone regarding this. It was mentioned this is $300.00 plus hours to convert my existing posts to the new format. Can someone call me? Thanks.

judyo

Darn! I should have read before posting - if the multi-user blog is $150,00 then that is what I'll take - we need to be able to edit our comments! LOL!

REW Jenn

Darrell

I have put in your order for the featured areas callout, the SEO friendly drops, the get local, google directions, and birds eye - to apply to your template currently in production.

The only thing to be aware of is that the Get Local comes with a $20/month fee.

Thanks!

Jenn (Morgan Carey's Assistant)

REW Jenn

Judy. That is no problem. I will process your order with the multi user blog included.

I will message you as soon as I send that in.

As for the editing of the comments - Good idea! I can't help but think there is a way to do this through the back end - or maybe its just the blogger him/herself that can edit comments. Regardless it is this kind of useful feedback that we need at the Summit!

Are you coming? Its so beautiful here in September - plus it will save you an additional 25% on your order!!!

Jenn

REW Jenn

Judy I have just sent in your order for the template, the 3.0 idx, the control panel, the get local (with montly fee), the RSS snippet reader, the walkscore, the mulit user blog.

Your features: quickserarch, featured listing, google directions, XML/IDX sitemapping will be moved over

Please note that upgrading to the 3.0 template means you are upgrading from a CMS 2.0 schema (with your existing cook county site) to a CMS 2.5 with the 3.0 template. As such your hosting fees increase by 9.95/month.

Do let us know if we can look forward to seeing your smiling face at the Summit!

Thanks!

Jenn

judyo

My husband and I are discussing the summit and will check out flights and such (it's an adventure getting there - that's for sure)! But the ferry boat ride was one of my favorite things (I took the ride from Seattle two years ago).

REW Jenn

Ah the Clipper. I have memories of that boat both good and bad (rough conditions are common in the winter months). Let us know what you and your hubby decide - its a great excuse to come see this wonderful corner of the world at one of the best times of year!

Jenn

Morgan Carey

Awesome Cindy, I look forward to meeting you. As for your "major IDX changes" what were they? (You can email me if it's private) -

judyo

Hey Morgan - glad to see you're back and hope you're feeling better. I thought I posted this yesterday but I don't see it anywhere. I've paid for everything and am stuck on template selection. I love the earth color scheme for template #9 but I don't like the large slideshow and wide (top heavy) header - love the title font and everything else though.

I also like template #8 but was wondering if the Quick Search can be put in the photo box area (don't want my pic on the front of my website). Is it possible to create an earth color scheme for that template?

I know I'm being a pain but I've had my current site for a long time and although it's time for a change I want to be happy with my new site's look. Can quick/simple modifications be done like narrowing up the header on template #9 (not so much space between the title and top and bottom menus and possibly adding the Quick Search module next to the slideshow - making it smaller in width)? Or can a color scheme be added to template #8 (earth)?

Morgan Carey

Hello Judyo, you certainly are never a pain, and in this case, everything you are asking can most certainly be done, unfortunately each template product is sold "as is" and thus they are custom requests and would need to be made via our billable custom work order process "on top of" the template order.

Feel free to submit via any of the prescribed methods http://www.realestatewebmasters.com/csr/ordering-new-work.php (sorry I can't do custom estimates here on this blog as it will clutter up the comments and confuse some folks)

Morgan Carey

Btw - for those of you that asked about adding this upgraded IDX technology to LEC's here is the estimates I got back from the team (be sure to see my note below the hours)

LEC3 30-40 hours
LEC4 50-60 hours.
LEC2 70-80 hours.
Add 30% if you really want us to harden it as much as possible

** Note - I AM going to be paying for this myself, so for those that don't mind waiting a few months, it will be far less expensive as I will just be charging an "upgrade fee" (which is far less than these hours) once I have done and harded all the coding - for those of you who simply cannot wait, you are of course more than welcome to order it and the estimates are above. I will be doing LEC 2, 4, then 3 (that is the order of popularity) - you will also notice LEC 1 is not listed, that is because we no longer sell it, thus investing on my end for it doesn't really make all that much sense - but the estimate would probably be similar to 4 for that one.

Hope that helps.

Jason Lapene

I would like the featured area call out for Dwell Atlanta, please.

REW Jenn

Hello Kevin

I checked with out IDX coordinator,

it does not look like we work with that board - unless they are covered by a larger MLS board.

Our IDX coordinator is looking into it as we speak. I will get back to you as soon as I hear back.

Thank you for your continued patience

Jenn (Morgan Carey's Assistant)

REW Jenn

Kevin, FYI - this is from our IDX coordinator:

"Albemarle Association of Realtors does offer a raw data feed. The person would need to sign on in order to have the 3.0 created for them. The board has no problem with the product. There's a monthly charge for the feed that would be passed on to the client of $35.

When they sign on as a client, I need them to contact the board and request the paperwork. Of course, I will let them know this once I'm assigned."

Soooo you will have to go through the process of signing up with Albermarle Board with us as part of your development process on the new template which will utilize the Alberarle feed.

The corollanchromes additions should be good to go though.

I will pass your order for both along to billing.

Thanks

TheRealOBX

Hi Jenn,

I need to change my order. Who should I speak with?

Kevin

JUDY DEMING

I'm with RE/MAX On Track & I want to order the featured listings module.

REW Jenn

Hello Carl you can check out an LEC 5 here http://5.rewlec.com/

You can check out a loaded template by going to http://www.rewtemplates.com/ and selecting on of the example sites - then clicking the "loaded demo" button

The main differences are this:

An LEC is market exclusive, so if someone in your city/area has one, you can't have one too. This is often the reason that a agent will choose to go with a "loaded" template - another agent in their area has already taken the LEC number they wanted - yet they still want a flashy bells and whistles website (but are not ready to go custom).

Also the LECs are designed by us - they are basically 20 - 40K websites sold at 8 -10K because they are not custom. They are limited custom but not fully custom. We design them to work the way we think they should and often clients will have different ideas - in this case you may be better going with a template and adding on the features you like and leaving out the ones you don't like (ala carte).

However, you cannot take features or components of an LEC and add them to your template or custom site. An LEC is subject to the same intellectual property rights that a custom site is (or a site from another source for that matter) - they contain features that are exclusive to that LEC. So if you really want a certain feature of an LEC - most of the time you will have to get that LEC to get it.

So the best thing to do would be to look at your budget and figure out which functionalities and aesthetics are important to you. Check to see if the LEC 5 is even available to you in your area in the first place too. Then see if the LEC 5 meets your needs fully at its price point or if a template "loaded" with the stuff you want meets your needs at a more reasonable price point (sometimes when you really "trick out" a template it will exceed the cost of an LEC).

Hope this helps!

Jenn

Jason Lapene

Is just a plain CTA on sale? I want a blog CTA. Also, I keep trying to reduce the size of my blog profile pic in photoshop to no avail.

REW Jenn

Jason

I'm sorry but I don't see a Call to Action on sale here the only one that we could think of is this http://www.realestatewebmasters.com/upgrades/design-enhancements.php. In terms of getting a blog CTA - that sounds like a work order to go in the work order forum http://www.realestatewebmasters.com/forum/forums/66-Work-Orders. Also I would visit the support forum http://www.realestatewebmasters.com/forum/forums/30-REW-Customer-Support-Forums for the photo question.

Jenn

REW Jenn

Hello Carey - the featured area call outs and the SEO drop downs are not included in the template (as is) so I have added them on to your order. The ammenities carries a $20/month fee, FYI. Your site was not up when I went to see if you have an IDX so if you have one already your IDX hosting fees stay the same, If you are implementing an IDX feed for the first time there is a $30/month charge paid annually ($360 / total).

Your order:

a) IDX 3.0 $1250 (plus hosting if you do not already have IDX hosting)

b) Template website (3.0) - $250

c) Featured area call outs – promo price $150

d) SEO friendly drop downs – promo price $150

e) Amenities (get local) – promo price $150 plus $20/monthly fee

f) RSS snippet reader - promo price $50

g) Google directions – promo price $150

This has been sent to billing, thank you for your order! Have a great day!

Dylan Darling

I'll take a template with IDX. I'm not sure what add-ons yet. I need to look into them further. Is there a page that describes all of the add-ons? Also, how easy will it be to move all of my current pages over to the new template? I rank well now and want everything to remain the same. Will it be a simple copy, paste? or is there anything I should be aware of.

Also, if I get everything moved and cut my old template, will the remainder of my paid hosting for the old template go towards my bill?

Thanks,

Dylan

REW Jenn

Hello Dylan you can look here http://www.realestatewebmasters.com/upgrades/ for information on REW upgrades. Of course not all of them are on sale so you will have to cross reference what is available with this promo (in the blog post) with our information on add-ons.

According to the production manager we can aways copy the database content over, and this is a routine practice. In terms of your pages remaining exactly the same - this cannot be guaranteed because things can change and look different when they are transferred over to a new site:

In his words: "on site A, there may be a style for headings to look a certain way (underlined, or tiny) - on site B they will look different, making the content different from how the original author intended"

In terms of hosting - yes your remaining paid hosting does go towards your new template. Keep in mind that the new 2.5 CMS costs more, hosting wise, than the previous versions. So if you are moving from a 1.0 or a 2.0 CMS to a 2.5 CMS (with the new template) your hosting charges increase (to 49.95/month) - so your credit (for the hosting paid previously) may be "eaten up" at a faster rate.

Either way, the fast answer is yes, it does go towards it - you will get charged a years hosting at the CMS 2.5 rate of $599.40 and have the unused hosting from your current site deducted from this charge. So all in all, it is prorated according to what you are moving from and "going to".

The promotion runs until Friday and it is easier for everyone to process you order all at once (ie. with the add ons that you would like, if you choose to have them) so please let us know at your nearest convenience what your complete order looks like.

You might consider going on the forums and asking your fellow agents which "add ons" they would recommend - I am sure you will get lots of opinions and helpful advice there.

Thank you

Jenn

Larry Jensen

Does this apply for adding additional IDX providers to my site. ie: I deal with 6 different MLS's and I would like to start incorporating some of them into my Feed and On Line Search.

Brian Enright

Please put me down for two 3.0 templates + IDX with the following options. I'll be attending the Summit also.

  • Featured listings: retail $300 - promo price $150
  • Multi user blog: retail $300 - promo price $150
  • SEO friendly dropdowns: retail $300 - promo price $150
  • XML / IDX sitemapping: retail $500 USD - promo price $250

Thank you,
Brian

Bruce Wagg

Great! Let me add the following to www.brucewagg.com

  • Bird's eye view $150
  • Get Local $150 with the $20 a month

Morgan Carey

Larry just a heads up, these IDX's you can still get at the promo rate but it would NOT be the 3.0 new IDX, because you have the LEC 4, you have hte old IDX, so each extra one you add, would also be of the old type as the two are not compatible.

I had posted above regarding me paying for time to have 3.0 IDX coded into LEC's but that is not currently an option, nor does this current pricing apply

Robert Worthington

I'm on the fence from one mls to another. Since Larry pointed out two idx's can be done it may be in my best interest. dev3.rewtemplates.com/idx/ has a great layout for two mls's. Can customers search both mls's disguised as one? Meaning in the quick search, can all cities from both mls's be visible without selecting mls a or mls b?

Morgan Carey

What you are describing (I think) is what is called "listing co-mingling" it is only possible IF all boards being co-mingled have a provision in their compliance regulations to allow for it, which is EXTREMELY rare.

If it is possible it means quite a bit more custom programming than simply having 2 or more independant IDX searches.

Albert

I'd like to add:

Walkscore integration: retail $250 - promo price $125

Quick search: retail $300 - promo price $150

Thanks

Hi Jenn (or Morgan),

Unless I already have it, I would like to place an order for the "Featured Listings" upgrade. This is the upgrade that allows for a listing to be diplayed on a webpage, correct?

Also, what is the "Featured areas callout?"

Is the "key word" tool on sale?

If it is, I would like to add it to my template site (commercial)

Hello Albert

I looked into your site (www.ArizonaChoiceRealEstate.com) looks like you are running a CMS 1 platform.

According to our production manager, none of the modules are available for a CMS1.

In order to obtain these features (walkscore and quicksearch) you will have to upgrade your platform(i.e. upgrade to a new template)

I'm going to skip the IDX at this time, but please bill me for a new template

New 3.0 templates: retails at $499 - promo price, $250

REW Jenn

Hello Dylan -

I have put through your order to billing and I am assuming this is to replace your current site dylandarling.com. Please be aware that as your current site runs a CMS 1.0 platform and the templates utilize a 2.5 platform your hosting will increase to the 2.5 hosting fee of $49.95/month (a 19.95/month increase).

Thank you for your order

Jenn

REW Jenn

Mark

I have sent your order through to billing

Thanks

By "Mark" on the last comment I meant "DC Condo Boutique"

Frank Harris

I would like to order the following,

1) Template #9
2) 3.0 IDX
3) Amenities (Get Local)
4) Microsoft Birds Eye View
5) Walkscore
6) SEO friendly dropdown

I would also like to know if you have a color scheme for Exit Creative Realty? The default color scheme for the template I'm ordering is pretty close to the burgundy.

That's for findingsarasotahomes.com

Albert

Hi Jenn,

I know I was able the Birdeye view last year, Could you please for at least a walkscore?

Sorry, I didn't see any limitations for CMS1 in the original message.

Sincerely,

Albert

REW Jenn

Frank I checked - and no we do not have a color scheme for exit realty - my suggestion is to look through the colour selector and find a "close enough" one. Or you can order a custom colour scheme but of course with custom work comes custom hours.

I have put your order for findingsarasotahomes.com through to billing

Thanks

Jenn

Morgan Carey

Actually I don't mind doing a color scheme up for Exit - they are a franchise, so we will be able to re-use it. *Note this is not an offer for custom colors for Frank - I will be doing the colors similar to http://www.augustahomestore.com and making it available. He can decide to choose that color if he likes. **Note the same goes for all major franchises - if there is not already a color for them, I will be happy to do one as we need them for the templates anyways.

REW Jenn

Brian: I have put through your order for the following:

Wants to attend the summit (additional 25% off upon attendance)

REW Jenn

Karolyn - I have sent through your order to billing for http://www.karolynrichie.com/

REW Jenn

Albert: I just spoke with a bunch of our tech guys and they said that while you are welcome to the walkscore at the promo price actually implementing it onto your particular site will involve custom hours.

Since this would be a custom project your avenue for ordering this project is through sales@realestatewebmasters.com

Please contact us through this avenue if you would like to proceed with this project.

Thanks

Jenn

Albert

Thanks Jenn, I just e-mailed the sales.

Please process an order for the following:

1. 3.0 Template #1 REVAMP ($250)

2. 3.0 IDX ($1,250)

3. QuickSearch ($150)

4. Drop Downs ($150)

5. XML/IDX Sitemapping ($125)

6. Control Panel ($250)

Total: $2,175.

Site launch date is not determined so IDX work and hosting fees will be deferred - let me know if this arrangement is not OK.

Thank you.

Greg Haraksin

i'd like to order a new template and IDX. Morgan please call me

Morgan Carey

Mitch (we have several) which Mitch are you? As for deferring hosting - that is not really possible as it is part of the promo invoicing structure - however actual billing against your hosting fees does not begin until your dev location is installed (that is when we are technically providing access to your CMS and supporting it) - so if you don't have your dev installed for 3 months, the clock doesn't start ticking on the hosting until then. You will want ot make sure you let billing know that this is your plan though.

Mitch Argon

Morgan - I thought you would know by the email address. Last name - Argon.

Can you give me 6 months of dev time? I have some RE/MLS biz that I will need to take care of in addition to usual dev. In prior promotions I have partipated in, I don't recall having time limits to a hosting launch - essentially it was a pre-payment for products "to be installed" at a later date.

Morgan Carey

6 months of dev time? Are you saying you want to wait 6 months before it gets installed? If that is the case, then no problem your hosting does not start until then (although you do need to pay for it with your order, as it's part of the promo)

However if you mean you want the products installed on a dev "today" (and want to work on them on our development servers for 6 months) then the hosting would start counting down today - as we bill hosting when sites are on the dev server the same as if they were live (because you are using hte technology, and you are accessing the same level of support)

Either way - hosting is billed with your order - but if you don't have the template installed for 6 months, your hosting doesn't start counting down until that time. Hope that helps.

Mitch Argon

OK Thanks. Please process the order. No problem pre-paying for the 1st year hosting - I just don't want it to start until I am ready or near ready.

Melina

Please add 3.0 IDX to my site. I have requested this of Gerry via email as well; apologies for any duplication.

If you need payment before end of day Friday, would you please email the invoice to irye@pov.bc.ca

Many thanks, Melina

I will take a new template and IDX for indyrebaterealestate. I think Mike P asked this before but I didn't see an answer. I currently have two sites feeding into one backend. Will this upgrades affect that in any way?

De'von:

I believe Morgan has answered your question when he said:

"You cannot order the IDX 3.0 for an old site though (at least not through this promo, that would have to be a custom order) so for those wanting 3.0 IDX - they either need to have an LEC 5, or one of the three new templates ordered OR they can post a custom work order to their sales person / work orders forum."

He also wrote:

"Btw - for those of you that asked about adding this upgraded IDX technology to LEC's here is the estimates I got back from the team (be sure to see my note below the hours)

Hope that helps."

I hope this has answered your question - Jenn

REW Jenn

Kerri:

Control Panel
The Control Panel is designed to simplify communications with your members and leads, and to provide an enhanced user experience for visitors using your site. This upgrade allows leads to keep their contact information current, includes an internal messaging system (no outside e-mail communication required), as well as auto-generated Saved Searches. Yes, leads now receive Saved Search updates based on their browsing history, thereby saving you time, and ensuring that they don't miss out on that special home

An example: http://www.realestatewebmasters.com/images/screenshots/control-panel-1.jpg?KeepThis=true&TB_iframe=true&height=400&width=600

I will wait to hear from you - whether or not you want to include this in your order - before processing your order

By ETA on launch - I assume you mean when will the blog feature on your site be ready to go?

Usually during promotions (due to the large number of orders) our production is about 2 weeks behind its normal schedule. So we are estimating 3-5 weeks to completion (for most projects) - though of course this is not written in stone

Thanks

Morgan Carey

Mike Trinch, just a follow up from your exchange with Jenn - she is right, any "module" features you had on the previous template, move over at no cost, any "custom" work you want done is billable by the hour - and you just go through the standard sales process for that - did you want to submit an order?

Morgan Carey

Quin from CondostoreLA - you had asked in order of priority what features I would recommend for your site:
Here is my recommendation list for features to add to a template:
* New 3.0 templates: retails at $499 - promo price, $250
* 3.0 IDX: (brand new with builder) retail $2500 - promo price $1250
* Quick search: retail $300 - promo price $150
* Featured listings: retail $300 - promo price $150
* Multi user blog: retail $300 - promo price $150
* XML / IDX sitemapping: retail $500 USD - promo price $250

Sorry for the delay in this reply (promo weeks...)

Morgan does not know of any demo of the IDX 3.0 search builder

In terms of the wide 6 template, the dropdowns and the featured areas call outs are not standard. However if these are installed on your current site you can have them transferred over to a new template (as long as they are not customizations).

I hope this has answered you questions

Joe: It looks like you are not a REW client and that your site is not a REW site. You can definately get a REW template and REW IDX 3.0 but you would have to make the switch to our products and our hosting

Its a good time to do it with prices like this! We look forward to hearing from you!

I inquired with Morgan about your question in regards to the LEC 2. Morgan says that it preferable for you to remain with your LEC as LECs are superior sites. If you read Morgan's past responses you will see that the 3.0 IDX is not currently available with our older LECs.

In answer to your question about the features - yes these would transfer over (as long as they were not customized) - this doesn't really matter in light of Morgan's response in regards to the superiority of the LEC but I am simply reiterating for the benefit of yourself and others. If your features have been "customized" - transferring over to a new template would involve custom hours which would be estimatable on our work order forums.

I am glad you are thinking of attending our summit. Make sure you book early to ensure your spot at this popular event!

Kerri Demski

Hi Jenn, I'm not sure if I have the control panel or not. It's an LEC site and I have the option to 'save to faves'....but I can't find 'saved faves'. Can you please give me a call? 403-542-8980. I would also like to order a new template site with idx for Vancouver. Cheers, Kerri

Morgan Carey

Mike (IndyRealtor) unfortunately you cannot co-mingle lead data from an old framework to a new framework or vice versa - thus they would need to be separate systems for separate sites. *I have askd about this several times or customers and the team has always came back with it is far to cost prohibitive and complicated. So unfortunately it's not going to be an option even with a custom order.

thanks

REW Jenn

Tom: please see Morgan's answer below in regards to colour schemes and large franchises

Sorry about that Judy - the featured listings can most certainly be added (or removed) by you at any time once you have it - it is a simple line of code that you put on any page - like this #featured-listings# -

Jenn, please set me up for the control panel if I don't already have it. As mentioned above, I have a 'save to faves' option but there doesn't appear to be a 'My Account' area in which to view them? or saved searches. Thx Kerri

Morgan,

It's just the end of the month, lots of expenses, is there any way this could be extended to late August? (pardon me if this was already asked in previous threads).

Morgan Carey

It is Friday and 5 o'clock - thank everyone so much for your orders. We are now completely (and happily) exhausted in sales and billing - so we are off for the weekend.

If we missed anyone on here, I am sorry - I will try to catch up with you next week (and if it's our fault we missed you, then you can still access this promo)

thanks and have a GREAT weekend :)

Well, boo. It seems like I currently mix an old skool template with my LEC but if it can't be done it can't be done.

If it can't be done and it is still possible, I would like to make it a new order then and and quick search, suckerfish drop downs, birds eye view and IDX sitemapping. Thanks and have a great weekend.
